Nice mod! I always appreciate lore friendly stuff that does not force my female character to have most of her body uncovered while traipsing though an irradiated wasteland.
And it makes sense that the Sole Survivor would be more comfortable wearing something from their own old closet, rather than something they pull off a dead person on the street outside Sanctuary.
Unfortunately I plan on keeping the mailbag. I love having bags on my outfits and the mailbag is perfect. Your character even pulls ammunition magazines out of the mailbag and it is perfectly aligned.
There's no point in removing it just to add an equippable version of the same item. . If you want the stats from that mod, just wear it. It would be easy to take any custom texture for the wearable bag and apply it to the base texture. You can request on the forums that someone edit this for you (with permissions, of course) but I plan to leave it on.
