Well, this submod of both Militarised Minutemen and SREP REDUX - Service Rifle Expansion Project makes your wish of being an unfortunate son. Inspired by three siblings of AR15 family in New Vegas and the infantry armaments of Cold War Era United States Armed Force, I set up four different kinds of preset of AR15s for Minutemen. 

• M16A1 is the standard issued service rifle for the troopers of Minutemen, which has an automatic receiver and a 30 rds STANAG magazines just like real life counterpart.
• XM177E1 is distributed to the units who is not suitable for full-length rifles, such as reconnaissance teams and combat engineers.
• A variation with 14.5 inches barrel and ACOG and semi-automatic flat top receiver is called M4 is carried by squad leaders and officers.
• Now the 'Ghosts', elites of Minutemen have got their new toys called M4A1 SOPMOD.

• Compatibility
  

Compatible with zachtan1234's Militarized Minutemen - Uniforms Patches and Insignia Addon and my New Calibers Patch for SREP Redux.

The Compatibility with FCOM is still unknown since I am not a user of FCOM, yet a compatible patch could be created fairly easy in my humble opinion, feel free to upload such patch if you can make one.

Manually copy and paste or via your mod manager.

The ESP is flagged as ESL, so it won't eat game's plugin budget of 256 mods.
