I really like this mod too. Ignore the naysayers Dude2112.
Chose the elderly version because I figured the voice lines were not redone so an older face made sense. I play with a lot of mods so I am going to add a cryo chamber to the vault because it makes me happy. I love the unique NPCs in the game and try my best to keep them alive. I found your mod looking for one that would allow me to send her to the Slog which is the only one of my settlements with ghouls. Course the problem is her voice lines are for the vault so it makes more sense to keep here where she is. Turning her human didn't occur to me. It is a brilliant idea and I want to thank you for your work.
BTW for those thinking of downloading it, I had already started the Vault 88 quest line where you build her desk. I had been thinking of just killing her but decided to look and found this mod. My character was still in the vault with her when I installed this mod. Opening the game up, there she was, all human and perfect. The mod works just fine, even if you are in the vault doing the quest when you install it.
My god do people just LOVE to complain! I think both versions look great. I had wondered about how she would have looked if she were human. Everything from the eyes to the bone structure looks dead-on accurate!
Immersive Human Barstow = Already dead Barstow / Skeleton:
In addition to:
- Probably with a Holotape with instructions about the experiments, Lore, and the extra areas of the Vault 88 - One of the alt. entrances should be opened or required a new key to enter, instead of the obstacles. - Probable stronger ghouls than normal, since she isn't there to control them.
Yeah throwing "immersive" in the title is misleading and asking for trouble. This is un-immersive, twice over - i.e. human and pretend cryopod. Maybe if you had a pod sat there you could make an argument - but an ultra weak one. Not saying other pods couldn't exist outside vault 111, but there's no lore of overseers having them (not even in vault 111), and vault 88 wasn't even built yet. Plus she talks as if she's been aware the whole time...
A less un-immersive notion might be to give her a memory lounger, suggesting she was plugged into it FO3-style (i.e. Tranquility Lane) to extend her life as long as poss (and keep her "sane") so she could keep an extended watch over the vault while she waited for Vault Tec... But even with that, if you want immersion she'd still appear as a very ancient human (think Mr House in his FNV pod). And without it your mod would be less un-immersive if she's at least got a semi-ghoulified look. Maybe such resources exist - iirc, some Hancock mods do it.
