I know I'm late to the party but is anyone aware of a bug where this mod affects the weapons sound? I normally run the White Institute Weapons mod but I thought this one was a bit higher quality but when I switched (I started a new play through) the sound bugged out and my institute weapons are silent. I also run the Smaller Institute Weapons mod... could that be affecting it?
This mod only changes the textures of the institute rifle. Micalov uses these same textures for his institute weapons but doesn't alter them so there shouldn't be any conflicts.
I've gone and tested it now! It certainly works, but unfortunately the Red institute sigil messes up the look of the majority of micalov's guns. :/ it's a bit of a shame, because both mods absolutely rock
dpillari I absolutely love your texture works, will you be working on doing an upgrade to Synth models or their armours to match the theme of your weapon retexture?
For some reason, this is not working for me. The only rifle that uses the new texture is the X6 88 rifle and I cannot take it from him or add it by console. I put this mod last in the mod list and still doesn't works.
Fixed: It was Synth Overhaul that was overlapping this texture.
The whites of the guns looks WAAAY too bright in my game. Do you know what might cause this? There are no loose/packed textures loaded after this mod. I don't use an ENB, I just use Darker Nights with Radiant Fogs as far as lighting goes.
I use an ENB for that very problem in direct sunlight the vanilla bloom and lens is a bit to bright on whites and yellows my eyes, my pre-set more contrast and less bloom (or just off altogether) I also have sky lighting off which adds even more indirect light to the image space, but you could un-pack and customize the the texture or the _n.DDS & _s.DDS maps if its just these texture that are the problem for you.
Same problem. I don't use any ENB, just the vanilla colors, and the white (maybe to do with material?) on the Institute weapons hurt my eyes when I'm outdoors. It's just too bright. Screenshot:
Such a good texture, hnnng... Next, i need a mod to make it use 2 ammo per shot, shoot twice as slow, smaller beam, more accurately, and do 2.2 times normal laser rifle damage. What's the point in the institute using the same laser rifle as the one in war where ammo was plentiful? Surely they would make something different for wasteland scavenging (more firepower, less ammo usage per kill, made for small skirmishes with expendable soldiers, not warfare). From a gameplay point, having a different model with the same stats is a waste of a model.
