Sorry it took me so long to get back to this, but I had to tell you when I saw this comment it really made my day and I think about it a bunch still. It means a whole bunch, thank you!
Is there a possibility that only this mod is uploaded as a single file for Dima because I don't want to replace Nick Valentine. Could you please set this up?
Just a question, would give the mod more freedom in certain decisions. For example, replacing only Dima, Nick or only Synts. But your mod your decision and that's fine.
Yeah, it's included as stated, and the dima face texture fix is also replaced by this revamp. I personally just use this mod as it is basically an all in one replacer for all the previous synth/nick valentine/DiMA fixes and tweaks.
My favorite Nick Valentine retexture of all time. It's required for my every playthrough now. I'm gonna shower you in praise here.
I adore the hand painted look of your textures and how you lovingly retained Nick's old, battered appearance-- and in fact, took it even further than vanilla-- instead of "handsome-ifying" him like just about every other Nick retexture mod does (no hate for Valentine Reborn, it's just not my style as I prefer Nick's lightly-creepy, rusty, scarred-up, age-worn, old man robot look, lol).
I proceeded to forget about your DiMA overhaul that's included in this until I loaded into Far Harbor for the first time in many months and was completely blown away. The way he's falling apart even more than in vanilla, the way the corners of his mouth are widened just a touch unnaturally, his eyes have new custom textures with those big deep black pupils, and all the water damage but with no actual battle scars, all serve to make DiMA look so delightfully creepy.
Then I realized you threw in the jaw syncs too and it was like the ultimate cherry on top of this big beautiful cake of a mod. Awesome work, one of the coolest retexture mods I've ever downloaded, it slaps, etc.
listen. Listen. I need you to know that this comment is super important to me. I got this last night and i was SO overwhelmed that I had to wait until the next morning before I could even reply.
Literally the driving motivation for this was nick. my beloved. I was so disappointed there were no... i hesitate to use the term 'lore-friendly' because I think that's a divisive one now, but like, he's a century old. he's gonna be a little crunchy, and the smooth polished look of valentine reborn and such? not my taste. so i started this and it just kept going for everyone.
DiMA was definitely influenced by an unfinished/unused texture I found in the files. Always bugged me that he used literally the same face texture as nick, just with the alpha disabled. He was as much a labor of love as Nick, in the end. (catch that the eyes are the same as the usual synth eyes, but the aperture is broken/stuck open and the light is burned out. i also upped the lens gloss so from certain angles you get a kind of visual callback to the hazy look he has in vanilla) and i love that you picked up on the water damage! Someone elsewhere described him as statuesque, but in the way of something ancient and somewhat neglected. he and nick may be the same model, but they've lived very different lives, and reflecting that was a LOT of fun.
sorry, you unlocked the bonus content here from me LOL, this project was something i poured a lot of love into and it was my first venture into substance painter so it was also a big learning project for me. even years later i'm still very proud of it and have a lot of thoughts
Hello, I'm having a problem with Nick's left hand, his more human hand. With the core mod, it works perfectly fine, but when I use the wardrobe fix that hand disappears, I can't figure out why this is the case. Is this a known problem or something unique to my load order?
I have this same issue when using this mod. I was testing one of my old mods and figured it was my mod causing it, but it appears to be this mod. I used a fresh save and fresh load order and it only happens with this mod enabled. Not sure what's causing it exactly, but it is very unfortunate.
EDIT: Okay so apparently if you use the NVD version/patch for this mod it causes his left hand to go invisible. I forgot I had the patch for that mod since I was just testing this mod on its own in MO2 disabling and enabling it(obviously with the NVD patch still installed) on a vanilla load order. So yeah if you have this issue, make sure you have NVD or just use the default option from the fomod installer.
Hello, May I request for some permission for editing?
I'm looking to make an update for the ECO/Non-AWCKR conversionof the Nick Valentine's Day I made. (The original required Armorsmith Extended) - Since the newest version of ECO, underarmor slot is now used by all outfits, which means Nick Valentine may not be able use constructible parts as the mod was. Which mean I'll make versions of nick parts that are equipped in other slot. (Ring Slot 51, then 54-60 - which mean 8 extra sets of nick parts.) as a workaround.
