Honestly, the blur effect (which wouldn't accur because of this tiny bit of a pokey pain, but because of the adrenaline thrust the stimp provides) and maybe a little "ouchi" sound if you poke in the needle may be a little but more immersive- BUT!

*But if stimps even healing less and do even delete a bit of HP before recovering, those become even more useless than they already totally are...
Especially on survival using a stimp is the least and last effective oportunity since it's causing dehidration and a negative buff, in addition even healing less than cooked food or many nuka cola if you don't have the perk maxed out...

It's even much more effective to just drink 2 bottles of purified water, which even will heal you even if you're not 100% satisfied of dehidration (if on survival) then using a stimp where you have to drink 2 botles of water afterwards anyway - besides receiving the negative buff...
Stimps are pretty much only for just one reason: if you get crippled.
Otherwise I'm only giving them to settlers or companions so they can heal themselves, or they are pretty valuable to sell.

Drinking 2-3 nuka cola "Quantum" (even better if cooled with drinking body or if you got the fridge mod) will provide super fast healing and far more of HP recovery than your max. HP limit, so you even can get hurt again and it'll heal you instandly again.

To actually be honest, needles don't hurt unless you get a lot at once, the person administering the shot is a jerk or not experienced, or if you have scar tissue in the area. Needles are legitimately designed to pierce flesh is as painless a method as possible, so this should really only apply to like not having the doctor perk, or up to level like 2 doctor.

To confirm, you've seen the vanilla stimpak animation, where you quickly shove a 4+ inch needle directly into your torso and inject it?

To confirm, you're aware that injecting compressed fluids into your body at the rate a Stimpack does would both overdose you on nutrients, causing you to s*** yourself instantly like you have never s*** before, while also exploding your veins from over compression, likely killing you on the spot?

Fallout is fictitious, and most things in it make no sense in real world scenarios. I can tell you right now that If I had a nuclear battery in my hands, I definitely wouldn't put it into a suit of power armor by pounding on it with my fist.
I can list SO many things that make less sense than a needle in this universe not hurting you that rank far higher in importance.

Like for example (on how Bethesda REALLY doesn't know how most things work):
      1. Why are there green lightning storms and an area covered in some kind of green radiation? How does this make sense? We've seen nukes dropped before, this doesn't happen. If it did, it sure as hell wouldn't linger for 200 years.

      2. Why can I get HEAVILY irradiated, like 90% just pure glowing from radiation, then drink some bagged Kool-Aid (rads be gone flavored) and be 100% healthy?

      3. Why can I get shot in the head point blank and stay standing? Why can I get shot 30 times all over my body, and not die from AT THE VERY LEAST massive blood loss, organ failure, hell I'd accept system shock. A needle injecting nutrients to speed up healing wouldn't stop the holes from existing faster than the holes existing, and them bleeding out all that meaty life juice would kill you.

      4. How the hell did I, a soldier/lawyer end up waking up, stumble around blindly, find a Pip-Boy, and just instantly know how to use said Pip-Boy flawlessly without issue? There are no Pip-Boys in society, this is a Vault-Tec technology, so I was guaranteed not trained with it.

      5. How did I wake up after 200 years in cryo sleep and was able to walk instantly, no retinal damage, no neurological damage, nothing. Just stumble once, then walk perfectly. Muscle atrophy is a thing.

      6. How did my eyes go 200+ years without light, frozen solid, yet I walk outside for the first time and I am not on the ground screaming from the pain. Ever wake up in the middle of the night and look at your phone with a white background? Hurts, right? Imagine being asleep for 200 years. That would be EXCRUCIATING! There is no way in hell they would be able to just walk outside so soon after waking up. Hell, how I am I not just blinded after having my eyes and the liquids in them frozen solid for 200+ years?

I have oh so many more, but trust me, a needle poke not hurting, not even in the top 100.

Not judging your mod, by the way. I can see how it adds immersion, and it's honestly a welcome addition. I personally have hundreds of mods, and a lot of them are just minor tweaks here and there, so I understand how this mod would be useful. If there is anything to take from this, take that message above all else. I am just pointing out that there are a metric ton of things that make even less sense in the grand scheme of things, such as how Bethesda even exists with them believing you can eat 10 boxes of food in one sitting and just heal up all the ouch and be all the health. I love these games, but man do they not make sense. I think that's what I like most about them, it's the escape from reality into the crazy world of "how the hell does this even work?"

Valid point here I wondered myself thought it was just me
The thing that gets me as being a parent .. why would everyone's problems matter to me when my child has been abducted.
There are some serious priority issues with the main character here .. Number one, find my child screw your settlers.
And indeed muscle atrophy is a thing. I was in a coma for 20 days . I had to learn how to walk , swallow and use my hands again from only 20 days . It took almost 3 weeks to walk without some assistance again
If you have ever played the Metal Gear The Phantom Pain , The whole intro sequence was done pretty well .. especially after being out and bed ridden for so long .

In terms of how Shaun should have been the main focus, I totally agree. It could at least have been framed in the way the Mad Max game did it, where the factions/settlements basically don't help you at all until you've helped them enough. Then they'll assist you somehow in finding Shaun.
But that's a mod for another day lol

As for Venrexx, totally agreed, Fallout is hella unrealistic. I love some of that, and try to fix what I don't :)

I actually like that idea. I can see that people would understand that you are missing your son, but in their world, so many people go missing all the time, you would look like just another face in the crowd in this regard as well. I could definitely see them trying to barter for that information in a "you scratch my back, I scratch your back" kind of scenario. As a parent myself I wouldn't stop hunting for my daughter until she was found, and come hell or high water, nothing would get in my way. I wouldn't give a damn about other people's problems, because my own problems at that point would have peaked, but at the same time, their problems are very real too, so they would see it like "if you don't care about me and my problems, why should I care about you and yours". I could see the sole survivor getting angry and frustrated with people not helping, and this could lead to even better story telling, more emotion packed behind finding their son, and giving you a far better glimpse into how people have adapted, and how they get along, forcing you to interact with the communities in order to progress, and therefore giving a much better chance for environmental and communal storytelling.

I need Venrexx at my side while I mod my game. You have a eye for realistic lol. I'm trying to mod my game to be as realistic as I can get it (video game wise).

    Hi Fantafaust

Nice one! But you have to rename your archive for it to work: "stimpakhurts.ba2" > "stimpakhurts - Main.ba2".

And while you are at it, maybe you could also compact the FormIDs and flag the pluging as esl

    Cheers & thanks

Where's this 'AG Needles Hurt' mod for New Vegas?
I've found a few mentions of it, but no luck with the actual mod.
