Thank you for the tips, this is exactly what I was looking for. But I just have one question, for some of my modded weapons flashlights. The light of the flashlight suddenly ends abruptly while other modded guns lights fade out in the distance which is what I want. I used the exact same numbers for distance and FOV for all of them and yet some flashlights behave that way on some of my modded weapons. Do you know if this is fixable?

Hi there, yeah it's something you can fix, but I do not know which parameters you should change and in what measure; I'd suggest to start tuning some vanilla flashlights, like mining helmet, which seems to be tuned to fade away, then apply the same values to your gun's lights.

Omg thank you so much for this. What a catastrophe that all these modders keeping putting out weapons mods with just straight up useless piles of junk flashlights, like omg, what is the poooiiiiint if it can't go farther than 5 feet? lol. Thank you so much!

Update: well maybe it's performance and a lot people can't do it, but I prefer radius at 5000-6,000, fov at 30-40, and yes to shadows. Personally, I don't drop a single frame, but Idk. This NVidia GPU I'm testing on right now isn't even that G. It's only a 4GB, and I don't know what a dozen cores helps; I thought Fallout 4 didn't use much. But yeah, no frame drop with shadows for some reason. I have a more powerful Radeon 6GB GPU that WILL drop frames though. Weird stuff...

I have found though, that some guns simply have no "Lights" section to edit... Just a muzzleflash. Like AKM Complex for example. What in the world are guns like that using for their flashlight? A version of a headlamp? Or a mininghelmet light? I'm confubbled

Maybe they use the power armor default headlight. But I'm not sure. I couldnt find SREPP+Service rifle, there are some flashlights insite but no changes when I edit the lights in FO4Edit. No idea why....

For the FPS drop, i thinnk it depends if you're having NPCs using lights too. Longer ranges are a bit buggy btw, sometimes lighting through walls... Buts I'ts amazing when you are spotted in night time. And shot. And killed...ouch

Oh wow, yeah no I've never had the light go through walls. I've seen normal lights do that, but never a gun light. i just enable shadows on them all cause it looks bad af. lol. NPCs using them doesn't seem to drop the fps either for me. Well, I mean like 3 or 4 NPCs anyway. I haven't seen any more than that.

I guess for guns that use the Power Armor headlamp I'll have to use that mod that increased all the power armor headlamps' radius.

Welp, nvm, this has no effect for changing gobos anymore. I made all my modded weapons use a different gobo and they won't stop using the vanilla gobos. They just use the new one for a little while in-game and then never use it again.... And that's just inexplicable. So I replaced all the vanilla gobos with a loose file of the new one, and they...still somehow are using the vanilla flashlight gobo. This game is freakin creepy.

Hi, sorry for late replay. Yeah, I suppose so, but you have to find the pipboy flashlight, which will be set for sure as "omnidirectional", might take a while to tune right ;)

Man thanks so much for this, I'm not sure why it never occurred to me to look in FO4Edit for this but I love it. I get migraines and one of my triggers is bright light, and so many mods use super bright spotlights that it kills my eyes and I've stopped using the lights or mods altogether because of it. Now I can edit all of them to my liking. Really appreciate this.
