May I ask how do you exactly fixing it? Wanted to ask this because my translation esp seems overwrite your fix, so I need to do this myself through fo4edit

I fixed it in the laziest way possible, i just added the 44 sound keyword to it. if you're still a bit confused, rename my mod's esp and install it with the original esp, open them up both in FO4Edit and check the differences, you'll see the keyword that i added to the weapons.

I think I may too dumb to understand it, can't see much difference, I try to find the keyword which the comment below was talking about, it is "s_40_PistolFortyFour [KYWD:000D152C] been added, but are there anymore steps I need to do?

So I found this same problem in the desert eagle mod. How do you fix it exactly?

EDIT: So I think you added the "s_40_PistolFortyFour [KYWD:000D152C]" keyword am I right? What does this do exactly?

Simply adds sound to the weapon when shot by other npcs. You can also use the same keyword, the sound will be different, but in actual gameplay it won't be noticeable, or at least much less noticeable than not having a noise at all. But you can experiment with other sounds as well, just check the vanilla weapons for reference.

Thanks a lot KhTum. Is there any way to get the weapon to play it's actual real sound in third person? Not just a .44 substitute?

Yes, you can. IIRC at the time of making this fix i was just feeling to lazy to actually make it use the modded sounds lol. If want to actually put the effort in it you can make a new keyword and use the sound files from the desert eagle mod, though im not sure how the sound system works in FO4, in new vegas and previous games gunshot noises that came from other npcs used totally different sound files because otherwise you would hear the noise as if it were right beside you. Fo4's sound system might work differently, im not sure. If you plan to make your own keyword though, i'd suggesting copying an already existing vanilla 3rd person gunshot sound keyword and editing it instead of making one from scratch. I'd also suggest fo4edit for convenience.

Apparently this gun has so many silly oversight bugs, from Speed loader floating bug when NPC uses it. (Fix it by extracting the ba2., copy player's animation into NPC and Synth animation folder and it's fixed) and suppressor doesn't make gun sound quiet and muzzle flash from suppressor oversight.. all of which can be fixed in FO4 edit.

The only thing that is still buggy is power armor animation - which requires a new set of animation.

I cannot tell you how much of an annoyance the original mod's issue was, and likewise I cannot tell you how grateful I am that someone came along to fix it. Thanks!

Well how about that--was afraid I wasn't going to be able to use the mod with that issue bugging me. Glad I just starting using it when I did, or I never would have seen this excellent fix!

There was a bug where NPCs didn't make sound when shooting this gun?? Damn...

Thanks for the modfix in that case :D

Yeah it's something that you'll probably never notice if you don't use companions. The gunshot noises of the other weapons will make it barely noticeable, but once you DO notice it, you'll never not notice it again.
