Did the new Next Gen update bork the textures? This is my all-time favorite male face texture mod. However, I'm getting back into Fallout 4 after a hiatus now that I have a newer PC and I'm noticing the face isn't clean like it used to be. Confirmed that it's all on Smooth and all default cosmetic damage was removed. And yet still my Nate has some pock marks all over his cheek bones. :\
I'm so happy with this mod! It's the only male face texture mod that doesn't cause that "rusty" face issue for me.
Maybe a tip for anyone like me who skips straight to the comment section without reading the description -- I didn't realize the mod was working at first. Turns out, I just missed the modder's description, because I'm both dense and impatient. I had to actually choose the "smooth" textures in character creation for the forehead, cheeks, and neck, and then choose a mouth and nose option that wasn't "weathered" or "older." I actually really like this, because I could still pick "weathered" options for, say, the nose without it looking weird alongside the smoother face.
I'm using this mod for female faces alongside this one: Young Female Face Texture https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/552. No issues with "rusty" faces there, either.
thats the face texture ive been using since it came out. and ive somehow never thanked you for making it. so THANK YOU so much for making this many years ago. i love it to this day
It was a long time ago and pretty basic but there wasn't anything out at the time so I quickly whipped something up so my guy didn't look so haggard. I could do better now but I still use this mod myself when I play. Glad you like it and thanks for the thanks :)
Is this texture compatible with other 2K face textures? Can I mix and match, or does this only work with vanilla resolution textures?
EDIT: just tested this out on various NPCs like Clayton Holdren: brown face when having this texture take priority over 2K faces. Normal looking face when this mod is disabled or overwritten. Tried this twice, same results on all the NPCs I checked. so it unfortunately looks like this doesn't work with 2K faces. Darn, and I liked this too.
No it's not compatible, although you could just resize the textures yourself if you have any know how. I might just do it at some point but no promises. This mod is OLD.
I can't seem to get the mod to install properly using Mod Organizer 2. It gives me the following error:
<data> >data >meshes >fomod >info.xml
Apparently, MO2 doesn't recognize the data folder as the actual data folder, and it wants me to set one. Any idea what I should do in this situation? Do I just set the first data folder as the main one and go from there?
No, choose the second data folder. I didn't know much about MO2 or making any mod manager compatible mods when I made this so the file structure is off (I shouldn't have included a data folder at all when I archived it) but at the time I was only using NMM which can figure it out whereas MO2 can't. In the future, if you come across this problem again with another mod, when MO2 asks you to choose the data folder, it is always the one above the textures, meshes, sounds... etc. folders.
It won't work for me. I'm kinda jealous of all the people down below who got it to work. I don't have any texture mod for it to conflict with this mod but it would not work, I only have face texture mod for females and that's it. I even look through the data file and everthing seem to be in order but it just won't work. Any idea at all?
Not really. It's the simplest kind of mod there is. Are you making a new character or expecting to see the results on an existing character. Because you have to select the right skin options for it to show up.
If you can't see it in character creator or the surgeon, then maybe your game isn't set up right to receive mods. There's a link in the sticky that explains a bit more but it's pretty old now. Any mod manager should do all the work for you.
Got it to work somehow. I reinstall Fallout 4 and all the mods so I can start anew and suddenly this mod started working. Made my male character look nice. Keep up the good work.

If anyone makes a hot dude with this mod and wants to show him off, upload your images to this page. I'd love to take a look at your guys!

(I should note that I am using the HD DLC)
