V1.1 - I did another pass to add more volume and changed the sound for riding inside the Vertibird. If/when the GECK is released, I will see if I can REALLY crank up the volume, but right now, the game actively limits how loud a sound can be played back.
Unfortunately, I don't have the time right now to do custom sounds (Huey, Hind, etc.) but thank you for for asking!
for what its worth, the lingering sound, i assume ( for immersion) the rotor transmission is in neutral ( blades stop) but the turbo jet stays on to wind down at a slower and less damaging rate. lets face it the fact they got turbo jets to keep running for 200+ years without need for VERY regular fan or bearing replacement is a miracle thanks for this mod though i have flown in a v22 1 time and i can tell you, the vertibird AINT MAKIN' it for that sound
Oh my god, you do not know how truly thankful I am for this. I kept getting a audio crash every single time I got into a vertibird and this fixed that for me. I know this was not meant for that but you truly are amazing for having one of if not the only vertibird sound replacers on Nexus.
Hi gtNYR68, I went ahead and made a small video, as I caught one vertibird buzzing my location at the time, so I just started recording for the heck of it. I also increased the volume a little bit, so hopefully you'll be able to hear the vertibird in various stages, as it flies over, the hover, dropping off a patrol, as it flies away into the distance... things like that. Man, thank you for this outstanding mod. It sure makes my game a helluva lot better. I was leary of this mod for a long time because the description said that it increased the volume of the vertibird sounds. But I was terribly wrong, it does increase volume, but damn makes em sound so much freakin better. Ever since my first play thru the sounds of the vertibirds were just so freakin annoying. Couldn't hear anything but them sorry ass vertibirds. I even got a new sound card but it didn't help at all. But now, with your mod installed my game is absolutely fantastic. In Real Life I have only been near 3 or 4 Ospreys while they were hovering, flying or taxiing and your sound is dead on. Once again, thank you so much for making this mod.
Man, I am so enjoyin you fine mod. Makes the Commonwealth more livable. I love how when riding a vertibird the sound is almost exactly like a P&W R985 idling. And when they are flying overhead they distinctly have the rasping sounds of a DC-4's P&W R2000 enginds. Again, Thank you
Could you make a version where it sounds like they're playing Ride of the Valkyries on loudspeaker as they fly around. Would be so boss. Might get tricky with two vertibirds playing it at the same time though.
