    Sticky
    Quick notes regarding version 2.

There are three sets of dialog for the male Gen 1 synths but I only changed one set so there would be some variety, although I'm not sure if it sounds better or if it's just different.  Ultimately, I want to make a spin off from MiRF that changes the Classic Radio station from music to a type of "coded" institute operations broadcast.  That probably sounds ridiculous and I'm still working out the lore but since I made the changes I included them.

The change log is pretty accurate but I honestly didn't spend a ton of time documenting things like I normally would so some changes may not be included.

When I tried to upload the FOMOD to Nexus it hung up so I deleted it and reuploaded with no problems.  Please let me know if it's not working or you have any problems!

As always, let me know if you have any suggestions.

I decided not to use this but I may in the future. In my opinion the sounds of this mod are very reminiscent of older fallout games (like 1 and 2); you said you were old so maybe you are a fan of these games too? I think it's a well done mod <3

Thanks for the mod. I silenced all my music in game so idk how these sound but the SFX sound good. I'm using this mod as a base while I hand pick every sound to replace.

That's how I started and have continued changing/tweaking sounds while I play for months now.    Any chance you'd share your replacer or a list of mods you used?  I'd really appreciate it.

I'm      t h i s     close to replacing the one installed with the FOMOD version just because of the Pip-Light sound. I've never realized that I use the light THAT much until this mod, but then again, I haven't seen anyone confirm that the FOMOD works properly. Other than that small inconvenience, this mod will be a permanent addition to my list. Thanks author :).

edit: I just download mods casually and have little knowledge of how things work so it'll be appreciated to know if uninstalling the original and replacing it with the FOMOD break anything at all.

edit: installed the FOMOD and I already have installer-related errors and they're in RED so imma assume that's bad and head out

I should have mentioned that when switching or updating to a different version you should use a "clean save", meaning uninstall the current mod, load the game, save/exit, then install the new version.  This process isn't a rule but it's a good habit for most mods.

If you give that a try and it doesn't work, let me know.  I can make a small .esl mod for you if you just want a few specific sounds.

I really love this mod. Most sounds are well done and immersive... but holy s#*!, the activation sound for VATS is anoying as hell!

I would love a different version for that sound, the rest is, as i said, absolutley awesome! KUDOS to you.

Well thank you and LMAO!  Trust me I understand how annoying sounds can get.  It's extremely rare that I use VATS so I'm not stuck on the current sound and I'm willing to make something you might like better or at least hate less.    Feel free to give me any idea's.  Lately I've been working on sounds similar to MW and EFT.   Let me know.

      Thanks for the fast reply!

The problem is i use "Bullet Time Mod" and i think there is my problem. I will tinker a little bit later, because i don't want to drop your mod, i think the sounds are way better and more immersive then the original.

But if you want to change the VATS sound i personaly would use a "zooming" sound, that is not aggressive, more passiv and subtle... if i find one i will let you know *lol* sorry, not really helpful, but anyway thanks again for your answer and your mod :-)

I finally finished the update with a FOMOD for the loose files. If anyone knows how to build the installer from an archive please let me know. It's not a major issue since MAC is relatively small but I'd like to use the process on MiRF which has large files.

I tried to address the feedback on version 1.0, details are in the change log.

Would it be helpful to have a video of the changes?

Essentially BA2 with FOMOD, others have done creating duplicates of the BA2 with specific items so... maybe it's best not to put archives on FOMOD.

every time I reinstall the game, I like to change it quite a bit, to make it different/fresh/whatever
anyway, this is a great addition to that small mod list I keep in my desktop
    good job!

That's great to hear! I've been having a good time making the sounds but I have way more fun playing so I'm looking forward to starting again (it's been a while). My list of things to do is getting smaller and smaller, so hopefully soon.

Wow, this is truly something to experience. This adds so much more thrill and mystery in my game then I would of imagined. I get chills exploring new locations or just wandering the wastes. Although it was a subtle changes, the new audio spiced the game up for me and created a new feel. I put too many hours into this game, and hearing the same sounds got old. It really goes to show how many of the mods I use alter graphics, but audio plays just as an important role as well. I look forward to using this in the future, and other content you add!

Just like graphics mods, there are a lot of great audio mods on the Nexus but it's difficult to get a consistent sound across the game. I'm really glad you're enjoying the mod but let me know when you find a sound that's annoying! I say that all the time but there are a lot of files in the mod and I make mistakes.

Let's not talk about how many hours is "too many." :)I played longer than I should have today, then spent 30 minutes getting the new map sounds just right and 2 hours messing around with the Flashlight and Favorites (15) sounds - I still don't like them. Sometimes things click (no pun intended) and sometimes they don't. I did finish the FOMOD so I'll post it when I finish the updated sounds.

      Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for this! Many of them are very good.
I did find the barter-UI (there was one loud sound every time you move down, I think it was) and Pipboy UI slightly annoying.

Thanks for letting me know about the barter sound. I'm pretty sure it's one of the container sounds, but I'll have to check. I just finished putting together the FOMOD so I can finally finish updating the actual sounds.

Really high quality stuff, I enjoyed almost all of the new the sounds, with one egregious outlier unfortunately causing me to uninstall for now. The sharp, digital sound made when mousing over map icons just destroys my ears. There are a couple changes I would leave out as well simply out of preference... do you have any plans to do a FOMOD? Again, really good quality sounds, gives a fresh take on those fo4 ui sounds we've all heard a million times.

Thanks for the feedback! Honestly I never really had a plan to make this a mod, I just started changing sounds and one thing led to another but having a FOMOD makes perfect sense. I'll work on putting one together this weekend. Do you have any thoughts on options/preferences (stuff to leave out) besides VATS & Pip-boy?

*I have a bunch of other tweaks to make so I'll either make a new map cursor sound or tone it down before including it in the update. Let me know if you think of anything else.

I agree, the icon hover sound is a little too much for my ears. If I could know what audio file handles that I could remove it from my game as I was the ba2 and I'm happy to repack for personal use. At least in the meantime until you release the FOMOD version!

I love virtually everything else however and gets my endorsement.

I just compared the vanilla files to the MAC files, then tried a lowpass filter and changing the pitch - nope - still doesn't work well. Anyway, the path is sound/fx/ui/pipboy/UI_PipBoy_Map_Rollover_01.XWM (and) UI_PipBoy_Map_Zoom_01.XWM if you want to delete the files. I've added them to the list of things I need to adjust/replace.

      Thank you for the endorsement!

No other sounds I would personally remove other than MAYBE the item selecting sound when equipping weapons/armor for instance. Might just be my ears too used to that vanilla sound in particular, but if you DO end up working up a FOMOD for these sounds, I think the more choice the better, as being able to hear the different sounds over and over in the game could change an opinion one way or another on which sounds to use. Going to keep my eyes peeled for any updates if you get around to it :)
