    Newest version allows progression even with Sturges being dead. All the scripts are packed in the archives double check that you do not have loose version of MQ102 Min00 DN092 and BOS204.

    Look in Scripts\Fragments\Quests if you have scripts loose from playing with the CK, or other mods they will override the packed ones and this mod may not work.

    Version 1.2 fixes settlements not giving out a Radial quest or Return the favor, troubled water, out of the fire. If you have already attended one of those settlements AFTER you killed Preston you may not get the radial quest or recruitment quest for that settlement. Going back to a earlier save before you get to that settlement is the only way to rectify this.

    Version 1.3 cleaned the plug ins with fo4edit, no precombineds should be broken using the default fallout 4.esm

    Deleted references are persevered as Conversation scripts for no name NPC's risk reactivating them if they are flagged as disabled. This should not present any problems with mission scripts, If you encounter a script that does not fire let me know and I'll look into it.

    This makes literally zero sense. The game was already laughably underpopulated for it having been 200 years and this would just make it even worse.

      I really enjoyed the fallout 4-76 simulator where there were NO people, I enjoy scaving fighting super mutants and the "I am legend" feel but you lose all the quests and side missions with that mod.

      So this is my attempt at a compromise, I removed all the decoration NPCs and left vendors and quest looped NPCs in place. Gives that isolated feeling when in the wasted land and the scrapping by feeling in the city's. Just like the Pier in Far Harbour. Once you leave the Pier you dont come across many human NPCs and the few you do are hostile.

      76 is literally 25 years after the bombs dropped. Fallout 4 is 200! There were a ton of vaults and other heavily fortified areas that survived the bombs!

    Well...its buggy bullshit. If you have installed this mod. If you started the game, played, and then encountered a bug. You can immediately start a new game.
    Alas, there is no alternative to this modification. The Commonwealth is overcrowded, but it's better to endure than throw 100 hours of game in the trash can.

    EDIT: the solution worked for me! opening the mod with xedit and delete any record says Combat zone worked for me

    My issue may be self induced. I'm unable to start. I initially used start me up and once I finish character and I load up in the game it froze at the black loading screen with the valt-tec symbol. I removed SMU and same thing happens when I'm in the cryo pod right after the spouse dies part. I'm running 170 plugins and probably going to add more because I'm looking to overhaul FO4 into a brutal wasteland,no intention of using frost or horizon because I prefer more control, and making combat, healing, and needs much more in-depth.

    Edit: idk whats happening, long story short, I'm running almost a vanilla game now and still won't start same as above. Is there an ini thing that could be causing this or maybe enb. I highly doubt its any of that but hey its possible I suppose. 

    Edit: Edit: now i really don't know whats happening I erased everything and reinstalled so that everything is 100% vanilla + this mod and still the same thing. and then used a mod to get me out of the vault asap then enable the mod and crash like half a second into the loading screen.

    its a shame i really wanted to use this mod because i agree the "wasteland" is too populated.

      Try loading this mod in Fallout4edit and deleting the Combat Zone cell from it.

      nope. I will try that crimsonlegion. I currently using glactac retribution fingers crossed i can use both. (editing may be necessary though)

    So ! I've made some intense testing, and more are to come as I just reached Concord for all exploration... But, after some struggle and an enlightment from the mod author, I can erease completely my previous statement, as it was not the correct way to make it work... and as I confirm that the mod works ! It ain't perfect, but from first glance, it works !

    The important part that I did not understood at first, is that you must ONLY enable "Last Man Standing", once you're out of the vault ( for vanilla game, and start me up "classic" / "skip" options ) ; or out in the commonwealth, generaly speaking, if you're using a mod to start from another location. That being done, you will realise that the surviving minutemen are still making their final stand, Preston is still on the balconny shooting at raiders... But they are now mortal. Which means that, by the time you go up, they will 100% die ( if you don't cheat like I did with noclip to see by myself if they were already pudding once i crossed the door of the museum ; or if they were alive and well ).

    I'll have yet to see if there is other conflicts or problems further in Boston, but for starter, I can say the mod seems to function as intended !

    with this mod changing how settlements work will it affect sim settlements conqueror or will that stay the same? sorry if its a dumb question
    Edit: after trying the mod it does break the script of sim conqueror when dealing with preston

      Do you have a mod that editd the combat zone? It seems to not like a missing NPC from the combat zone.

    I like it so far, but it's it intended that I'm not able to talk to vendors? Also got a bug where I've been stuck in the cryopod, deactivating until I'm out fixed it.

    I'm playing with damn apocalypse, pirad, hot diggity, agony and better locational damage.

      ya its best to turn this on once your out of the vault as a lot of mods use that start up sequence and loop into the first main quest, so if you have mine loaded in there it makes changes to that same quest, causes a lot of conflict. I use skk fast start up and I don't activate this mod till i'm outside the vault.

      I'm trying to enable this mod in vortex after I left the vault because I'm using Damn Apocalypse and SKK Fast Startup but I get CTD during loading. Is there a way to debug what's causing the crash? This mod seems to conflict with Start Me Up too.

      EDIT: it seems that I'm having issues with this mod. Logs report this:

      Try putting this at the bottom of your load order. You also hav issues beantown interiors and whatever is VM seems to be why you game is crashing. 

      To be clear Preston Garvey was removed from the MM quests so the control quest that counts how many mm settlements you have wont fire. This should not be causing a CTD.

      Understood. I'm not sure what's going on but when I activate last man standing I get a crash to desktop. I'm trying to remove various mods to see if they are the issue but so far I kept having it. I'm using SKK fast start, I create a new game with last man standing disabled, then I save once the initial sequence is done, reactivate last man standing and during loading of the save file it crashes. I can't find any info about what's making the game crash. It has something to do with this mod but I'm not sure what. I don't have mods that affect the main quest as far as I know: unofficial patch, VIS-G, SSK fast start, Silent Protagonist, scrap everything, pack attack, minutemen watchtowers, HUDFramework+Def_ui, Damn Apocalypse and everything else is visual. I wonder what can cause this issue.

      Do the game with it off till your out of the vault. Once your stairing at sanctuary hard save.

      Disable Skk, I use most of those mods with the exception of silent protagonists and pack attack. Keep in mind you may need to disable those mods make a clean save and then activate LMS.
