10/22/21: Corrected Settlement Menu Manager problems in my mod. Whiskey Smoke workshop menu should not appear as one item near the end of the main workshop menu with several submenus. Check that the flags in the menu show the SW Commonwealth texture. If not, you will need the optional file. You will need to OVERWRITE into the Your Custom Flags folders to ensure your game catches them. Trying to simply install the optional textures with your organizers may or may not work.
11/19/20: Corrected a non-CK issue for hybrids. Re-added flag textures missing from recent prior versions, so removed the extra file download.
11/17/20: Added an optional patch so that cigarettes and cigars from this mod and Desert Inspired Food will provide animations if you use Smokeable Cigars. Will only be an ESP, and you will need all three of those mods.
10/21/20: V4 is the final version of this mod. The scenarios wrapped up nicely in V4, it is feature rich enough to enjoy as-is, and also lack of interest in the mod by more users means I can devote my time to other projects. V4 is wholly awesome. I enjoyed making it, but time to do other stuff now.
8/29/20: V4 and a Definitive Guide video available now. V4 Guidebooks/Lorebook PDFs out. Wicked Shipping as a touch more role here, so maybe visit the locals to see if they have any items they looted from the place you can have? https://youtu.be/DOVeqNYWx6k
8/25/20: Working on version 4.0 to include a new Quarter Master (crafting bench) Relay Station that lets you create shipments of common goods like water, crops, various base Brands and SELL right there without being cheated by a vendor (Caps Collector 3 and 500 caps invest). Some new Brands from lesser crafts. Other stuff. Release date? Hopefully no later than this weekend.
8/21/20 Update 3.0 Extra Note #1: In workshop mode pick up any crops from any of my mods you planted and release. No need to store them or replant them. Just pick up and release. This will apply some corrections and tweaks by the game. Fun!
8/21/20 Update 3.0 out now. Be sure to download all the MISC PDF files so you know what you're getting + there's cool lore too. V3.0 adds rye and coyote corn hybrid crops, simpler than the tobacco hybridization process but more costly. In the end you will need to choose between Old World methods of production or Modern, which has additional cap costs. Or maybe you like challenges and have caps to burn by doing both. See the videos of v3. Some items are still being worked on like the patch for the brewing station mod, which is acting oddly.
8/17/20 Update 2.5 out now. PLEASE also download the cool Guidebook, Lorebooks and Product Line PDFs. Fun, and in some cases vital. You do want a nice checklist of the items added by the mod, yes? Adds some items I couldn't fit into 2.0 because of timing, some minor economy corrections, etc. ESL Flagged versions available for all items, though pay attention to the note in the main WS ESL version about purple .nif potential to the flags. Also adds a patch optional file for the Mysterious Magnum!
8/14/20: Update 2 released tonight. Also the Guidebook/Lorebook pdf has new content!
8/12/20: Initial Release. A fun non-Quest quest mod. Learn more by reading the Guidebook/Lorebook in the Misc section of the files tab.
Is the Mysterious Magnum Patch compatible with the New Vegas Uniqes mod or is it the Mysterius magnum Solo? If so any plans for a patch for the mega pack?
mate i have a big problem and i dont know how to fix it. i spend hours trying to get it work but no chance. as soon as im trying to enable your main fail dustyWS.esp my game crashes as soon as im trying to load the game. i dont even get to the main menue. all other files dustybrew.esp/dusty_courierpatch.esp etc are working but because they depend on the main file thats not really a ray of hope. have you any clue why im getting ctds with your main file? cuz as soon im disable it all it fine and the game work as nothing happened. thx for your help
Whiskey Smoke requires more than a few mods to be active. Please ensure that you installed all of them. The list can be found on the Description page under the Requirements drop down, but here's the ones the mod absolutely needs:
Fallout 4 - of course
The flags mod
Desert Settler Farming
Desperados Overhaul
Badlands Settler Farming
Settlement Menu Manager
Those few others you mentioned aren't required for Whiskey Smoke, but being patches they require the underlying mods too. Dusty Brew needs the Brewhouse Shenanigans mod, and the Courier patch has its required one too. Something is very likely missing, and your game should not start at all otherwise.
yeah believe me i spend hours triying to fix it so im really sure that i nothing left out before i wrote to you. i have all this mods installed but i have a suspicion could it be because im using the newest version from the desperado overhaul where the precombines are fixed?
Nah. The new version won't cause that. Install problems do cause that.
If you are using Vortex I'd suggest MO2.
You had a bad install, missing something or a big ol' conflict or even a load order problem. One way to check is to open FO4edit with all those mods. FO4edit won't open if you're missing something, and will tell you if you are missing something.
You need this file: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31036 if you want to use the Mysterious Magnum patch. It does contain some lore, little tidbits to fill in the corners of a story. Be sure to also visit Connie to see if she happened to have scrounged something that she intends to sell.
first of all, thanks for this cool mod, getting more and more excited as I grade up the plants.
I wonder if I messed something up or was it an error in CK or something, but I can't plant R3W2B2 BULL (and R2W2B3 as well). Took me a while to figure out why: https://ibb.co/1mNSrNv
What I mean is I made a R3W2B2 BULL for planting, but I can't plant it, because in the workbench mode it says I need a lower tier tobacco for planting to actually plant these. You can plant R2WB2 and R3/B3 with the same "seed". In short - you don't need T5 tobacco for planting at all. Then why is there a recipe in chemstation?
Not the issue. Found the real issue. Uploading the corrected file now both ESL and ESP, plus it will include the missing flag textures files from the more current prior versions.
It's about four years old now and the mod author doesn't speak English, but the mod CigaretteInMouth (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17084) has a model for a tobacco rolling workstation. You can get a good look at it in the images.
Not sure if it's his or he picked it up somewhere, but it seems like the sort of thing that would give this mod even more character (and de-clutter the already over used Chem workbench). If you weren't already making or had access to one, might not hurt to see if you can contact him and ask after the asset.
Just throwing that out there. Wouldn't fit into my current game, but I am interested in where this mod might go. There is a ton of flavor and mood being poured into this that I admire.
Yes, it would work well though the one thing that wouldn't necessarily is the need for the Whiskey Smoke player to plant manual crops instead of just letting the agricultural plots take up all the settlers' time.
Regardless the downloadable Guidebook and Lorebook pdf is quite good. It's getting an update in just a bit tonight as well, version 2.0 is coming out.

Took me a while to figure out why:
https://ibb.co/1mNSrNv
That would then allow you the R3 or B3 series or even just use it for a Bank Note cigar.
Is that the missing item? You hadn't combined the two seeds in item #2 above?
