For those who are still looking for color swaps or a craftable version of the Surgical Mask, you can now use my mod based on this texture: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/47377/
Have fun equipping your companions or your army of settlers with clean face-coverings.
Neat, glad I could help! Let me know when you finish (or I'm tracking you if that will let me know), it'd be a good quality-of-life change to let raiders keep dirty masks and put clean ones on my settlers.
Oh i meant i would do it for myself. I always put such little quality of life tweaks into my own merged patch that i use for misc balance/item changes and more tidy LL (so i don't have to have use so many LL scripts at once from various mods , or any at all)
While i could make a separated version just for the non replacer surgical mask. The problem is i cannot make LL inject scripts (cause i don't know how and i never actually touched Creation Kit lol all my "mods" are made via xEdit) and not everyone likes LL overrides as they are prone to conflicts with other mods that modify same LL.
Unless maybe adding a recipe to "clean" the dirty mask that requires 1 Abraxo or something? Anyways you are feel free to do it yourself its pretty easy its a matter of setting up a material swap as the mask's craftable modification.
Or if you want the dirty and clean masks to be separate just copy paste the surgical mask reanme it to for example "clean surgical mask" and copy as new its armor addon too and link it to the clean mask. Then set up your material swap for the item and its armor addon.
I assumed I'd need Creation Kit to do anything more than a retexture but I took a look at it and decided I didn't have time for that learning curve haha, thankfully I'm already familiar with xEdit so that doesn't sound too difficult. Thanks for all the info, I'll look into doing that. :)
Thank you for doing this. I always disliked that mask because of the texture. Maybe a simple mod but to me a big impact! Now my Doctors wont be wearing a clean coat and a dirty mask!
Thanks so much for making this! I wanted one for my Apocalypse Supplies mod but I'm terrible at texture work. I've added this mod as a recommendation on my PC versions: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4152649 and https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44007 Let me know if you post this mod for Xbox players and I'll add it to their mod description page too.
Thanks for suggesting my mod in your description! I've taken a look at the Creation Kit (if that's what I need for Xbox) and it's not really something I want to try to learn right now, maybe later. If you'd like to incorporate this texture into your mods, feel free, you've got my permission :)

Was on my todo list.
I'm glad that now i have to do only one of those.
Thanks :D
(I still will have to add it as new item tho cause i kinda want to have both the dirty and clean one ingame.)
