Great mod, but I feel taken aback by the description, because I know a lot of people (Myself included) who executed Danse. It's unreasonable not to, he even wants you to do it.
not saying I don't LOVE the idea and am going to download so Danse can have a doggo... and if Danse can be a companion and travel with you -- will Doggo travel with you as well? Important questions...
but... the downer in me also wants to point out that the player gets Danses room on the Ship if they stay in the Brotherhood so more than likely it was put in there for Dogmeat -- as the door is locked until you get access.
There's a mod for saving the cat if you decide to down the Prydwen. It'd be fun if Danse already did. I kind of like the idea that Danse is something of an animal whisperer, especially as the closest we get in-game is that lunatic that got his butt killed trying to domesticate Mirelurks.
But if they were explicitly farming the cats for meat, they wouldn't bother making little grave markers for them, presumably. I suspect the meat is mostly incidental.
@nintai83 You're obviously not a good cat meat merchant. More seriously though, I could certainly see butchering your own pets when they pass away, if you live in a wasteland where most of the sources of meat are more likely to eat you than you are to eat them.
The FHA knows how this goes; these future farmers raise animals with excellence in mind and even show them off but they do ship them off to become our Whoppers and McRibs.
Generally, my meat angle for SimSettlements runs toward Rabbit Containers and Chicken Trailers with the occasional Molerat Tower. (I do keep hoping for a Mirelurk Pen 3 by three ala the pens Sully Mathis set up after draining that quarry)
I'm a trifle surprised none have taken up raising a pen of those ghoul dogs for meat. (also adding 5 Security) There's a cultural angle involved, to be sure. We don't like to think of our pets we care for like someone's meal. But others simply won't think the same. Make of it what you will. Also, those bemused by all this may want to watch Clarkson-era Top Gear for his trip to Vietnam with May and Hammond, then watch Little Big Man.
My next work is to bring in the great grandkids of Liebowitz from Fallout 76, the first known person to attempt to domesticate a deathclaw from an egg you get for him :)

Works exactly as advertised! I am very pleased to have Krieg keeping my man Danse company in his shamebunker.
