Please see the updated installation guide in the description if you have questions about installation, LOD, why everything looks fine in the pictures but wrong in your game, etc.
Love your mod and thought i'd share the steps i took to generate lod for what i consider to be my favorite mod EVER to help the people who can't seem to get this to work :D 0) read the required material carefully (you need to read the badland 2 description, regenerating object lod using fo4lodgen, and the installation and setup instructions where you download xlodgen.) 1) turned on mo2, check off all active mods that have no business being involved in the lod generation process and run fo4lodgen through mo2. ( i had just the neuralod and badlands 2 active but i prob should have turned on the fungal forest because giant mushrooms are beautiful.) 2) adjusted settings for object lod AND terrain LOD. for terrain i have mesh quality set at 10, diffuse and normal set at 512. (the site you download lodgen suggest settings to play with so don't forget to look into that) 3) generated lod individually for each world space. Commonwealth, Farharbor and NukaWorld are the only world spaces you really need lod for. (you can just build all 3 together but i like to do mine individually. be sure to check the overwrite file and cut and paste the meshes and texture files into your temporary folder and if it freezes or fails to properly generate, close the programe, delete the mesh and texture file, then try to generate this again) 4) ran archive2 and created the main and texture .ba2 files. (remember to change format to general and compression to default for your meshes file and format to dds and compression to default for your textures.) 5) packed the CommonwelthLOD - Main.ba2 and CommonwelthLOD - Textures.ba2 in a winrar zip archive with neuralod resource.esp. renamed to CommonwelthLOD.esp. Downloaded the zip file into mo2 along side the farharbor and nukaworld lod archives and turned on all mods i cared to play with. 6) ran into the glowing sea to embrace atom and his glory in a field of atomic flowers!
Nice guide :) i think many people have problems with the LOD generation, since it's little bit more technical, but its hella needed for the beautiful look of desert like world :)
Thanks for the detailed guide- hopefully people will read this before despairing and/or throwing verbal poo at the prospect of rolling up their virtual sleeves and doing a little modding work on the user end.
For those who don't want to doawnload lots of programs for generating your LOD; you don't have to, technically. Just download the LODGEN program, create a shortcut for LODGEN64, edit properties and add (spacebar) -fo4 to the end of the the target line.
For me; my target line looks like this after "C:\xLODGen\xLODGenx64.exe -fo4"
After that, run the shortcut. It SHOULD bring you to the whole generate lod bit, I suggest leaving the options alone but you can enable additional things like terrain lods and whatever else. The general rule here is don't do anything that requires more than ticking a box to enable a feature.
Then generate your LOD, go get a coffee or whatever. It'll be a while. After that you will literally have the files in your data folder ready for play.
No other steps needed UNLESS you want to take those loose files and make a BSA2 out of them.
KABOOM!!! Dude I don't know what I was doing before, was I using a different LOD generator? I can't remember, anyway, followed your simple and to the point tut and PROFIT! Have a kudo's bud.
Whenever I try and use this mod alongside desperadoes overhaul I get these weird black spots on my terrain lod after generating that get lighter or darker depending on which direction I pan the camera, but when I walk close enough to them, they dissapear and whatever is supposed to actually be there renders in, I love the look of this mod but this eye sore is driving me nuts, any insight into anything I can try to resolve the issue, would be greatly appreciated!
Could just get good LOD. I have some for Badlands/DO, but if you are usingthe latest Desperados Overhaul you'd want the LOD that someone else made for it. Whole new LOD business going on there using PRP, etc.
Despite having used the Mojave ENB preset since it was released, I am now seeing an error 3000: CLutStruct when loading the game. Nothing changed with the preset since it was released, has it? I redownloaded it mid-June because I had cleaned out F4 and downloads in May, so that was my last download date.
edit: turns out that is a Film Workshop problem through and through. Also turns out FW is now hidden thanks to Nexit or Nexodus or whatever term we'd like to use, and its only available on Trey's Discord. lol
fyi for those looking for it on Trey's Discord, make sure you obtain the ENB version, not the Reshade version.
Bummer dude! While it is disappointing that talented modders like Trey have elected to remove their mods from the most central and accessible modding site on the 'net, I understand their complaints (even if I happen to think that those complaints are perhaps too little too late in the ongoing saga of internet privacy and the lack thereof). At least some folks- and props to Trey for being one of them- have continued to host their mods in a publicly accessible manner elsewhere on the internet. My advice would be to download backup copies of everything you like from these personal Discords and blogs sooner than later, as modder egos are notoriously fragile and public availability by no means guaranteed forever.
For what it's worth, the Nexus can keep my mods up as long as they like- it's a frickin' kids' game, we're a bunch of weirdo hobbyists, and I'd prefer to save my ire for the more noxious aspects of the surveillance society. Nexus is a pain in the ass a lot of the time, but I'm mostly convinced their periodic futzups are more due to damnfoolishness than malice.
Here's hoping that a democratically organized union of modders comes together in the wake of this Nexus fracas to collaboratively host our creations in the way we'd like them to be presented. Better that than a bunch of resentful individuals hoarding their art on private servers, talking sh!t behind each others' backs, and generally perpetuating the disorganized, disrespectful, hyper-commercialized internet culture that this Nexus rejection protests. Together we can make the best of our shared world, divided and alone we are devoured by its worst aspects.
This is a really old comment I know, but did you ever fix the problem with the enb? I've been driving myself crazy, tried multiple versions of the film workshop enb from the discord and the buriedmods site, film workshop alone works fine but I can't get Mojave working
Never did that I remember. Maybe use older versions of ENB baseline? Obviously Film Workshop and Mojave will overwrite, but an older version of ENB from Boris might work? Guessing.
I've been away from the Nexus and modding for about 7 years so I'm a bit out of the loop. From what I can gather Film Workshop used to use ENB, but now it looks like FW is only available on the guy's Patreon, and it uses Reshade. If this is all correct, is there a way to translate your FW ENB presents to FW Reshade presents?
Not really. If you really want the exact look of the BADLANDS FW presets, just use an older version of the ENB binaries along with the the old FW ENB. Barring that, you can always tinker with any of prod80's many color grading ReShade plugins alongside the free, public version of FW on Trey's Patreon to get something that looks similar.
You can download the enb version on his discord, but finding a working link to his discord was a hassle, too, and now I don't remember where I found it. Maybe it was from a video on YouTube
How did you get it working? I download the Film Workshop ENB from the discord which works fine on its own but when I add the badlands enbseries folder then my game looks like a kaleidoscope light show. Unless it's the enb binary version...which version do you use?
Not sure why, as Film Workshop ENB on it's own works just fine (you can get it from the MCREW discord server btw) but when I put the enbseries folder for Mojave into my directory and overwrite I get this light show https://streamable.com/toky44 It's definitely not broken previs as testing with other presets other this has no issue If it helps, the Mojave preset gives me this error "enbseries\effectpostpass.fx(206, 8) error: unrecognised identifier 'ClutStruct'
I've also tried putting the enbseries from mojave into the directory with the other enbseries folder deleted first so there is no overwrite, in that instance i get a black screen
EDIT: I found the problem thanks to @creepy on the Film Workshop discord helping me troubleshoot. There is an issue with your installation instructions for the enb. The entire enbseries folder from Badlands should not be copied over to overwrite, only the ini files in the enbseries folder. If you try copying the .fx files over, the errors occur. A disclaimer should also be made that the enb will only work with the 1.6 Film Workshop on the discord.
Could you help with and issue I have ? I have a white glowing visual glitch while using the flashlight on a specific plant. For information, when I remove True Grass, the glitch disappears.

Hi,
Could you help with and issue I have ?
I have a white glowing visual glitch while using the flashlight on a specific plant.
For information, when I remove True Grass, the glitch disappears.
Thanks for the help.
