Exactly what it says on the tin, this mod converts the Desert Eagle mod by NovaFinch and its crafting recipes to utilize the base game's .50 caliber instead of the .50AE included with the mod. Makes no changes to damage or anything else besides the results of crafting recipes, the rounds used by the standard ammo types, and the npc ammo lists for this weapon.
You might be wondering why, since the .50AE is a pistol cartridge and the .50 cartridge (based on the real-world .50 BMG) is one of the biggest standard rifle bullets in existence. It's because I dislike adding in a brand new ammunition for just one weapon and I don't really mind the caliber discrepancy nearly as much. Plus I like the idea of having a weapon being able to natively use the .50 ammo, something missing from the base game.
Simply install this alongside NovaFinch's Deagle. Marked as an ESL, so it shouldn't take up a slot in your load order.
Currently I'm running into a strange scenario where gunners successfully spawn with the desert eagle with the appropriate .50 ammo and use it but when you collect the weapon from them, it has the .44 modification. Still looking into how to fix this but the patch works just fine otherwise.
