Didn't expect to see a sound replacer for a whole group of guns nowadays, therefore even vanilla guns (well "nowadays", but still from 2020/updated in 2022).
But the good thing is, your sounds are WAV. files. so I can exchange the sound of any weapon I want with yours xD
Dark Western Duster Replacer, Maxson's Cape (black variant), Colourful Commonwealth - Sunglasses (black variant), TNR Shoulder Lamp, and the black cowboy hat (from NukaWorld DLC).
Well you can do it right now, or you can wait (an indefinite amount if time) till I release an update for this sound pack.
If you want to do it manually, you can first grab a copy of the Martini sounds from the HuntSounds pack located in: Sounds>FX>WPN>RifleHuntingA>wpn_rifle_huntinga_fire_player_01a.wav
Make a copy of that .wav file and head on over to where the Martini Henry ICI stored their firing sound at: Sounds>FX>DLCLondon>WPN>MartiniHenry> Then just place that .wav copy into this directory and rename said copy to WPN_FolonMartiniHenry_Fire_Player_01.wav
Reason why I had not done this earlier (I did but as a test) was because the Martini mod lacked proper tail sounds and replacing the firing sounds with that of Hunts made it sound odd/unimmersive. You will be able to hear what I'm talking about should you try it out for yourself. Anyway, I just got to fixing the lack of tail sfx after firing, but before releasing the update, I wanted to flesh it out a bit with other tweaks and with the addition of the Berthier/Scottfield.
Just head over to your FO4's Data folder then Sounds>FX>WPN>Pistolfourtyfour. If you don't have those folders, you can always create them. Then just grab any revolver sound provided from my pack (or any other revolver sounds) and rename it to WPN_PistolFortyFour_Fire_2D_01; WPN_PistolFortyFour_Fire_2D_02; and WPN_PistolFortyFour_Fire_2D_03. (You can create copies of a single sound file and rename them appropriately.) I'm assuming the colt uses the .44, as when I looked into the .ba2 file, no sounds were specified; modders tend to use the default .44 for their revolvers, so replacing the files should change its sounds.
Okay, i still need help with this. I've been trying to do it without coming back for more help. I even gave up for a while and tried to live with it, but it bugs me to not be able to get this working.
I renamed the files per the instructions you posted above, and placed them in either and then both of the folders below. Gun still sounds the same, By itself, it sounds underwhelming, but against the really good sounds in this mod, it sounds like a wimpy, lil' cap gun kids used to play with.
Try shooting the vanilla .44 revolver and determine whether the sounds changed or not. If it did change, that means the Colt doesn't use the .44 sounds; It may be using the western revolver sounds. Try using the same procedure as last time to replace the western revolver.
Sounds>FX>DLC04>WPN>PistolFortyFourWestern There is only one sound file, so just name the new file as WPN_PistolFortyFourWestern_Fire_2D.wav and place it in the directory.
If you need further assistance, just ask. I do not mind.
Both the 44 and the colt have the same non-glamorous sounds. The western revolver though, sounds beefy. I used the renaming process on the western revolver sounds and still no love for the colt. Very confused here.
Odd that the .44 doesn't have custom sounds. Try renaming your sound file as "wpn_pistolfortyfour_fire_2d.wav" and place it into Sounds>FX>WPN>Pistolfourtyfour. The name is different from the other files and I believe you maybe missing this one.
I've done everything you've advised here. I've moved and renamed files until my head spins. :P
Okay, i got it working. Finally... I reinstalled the colt, deleted the other sound files i had renamed in the Data folder and just renamed/copied the wpn_pistolfortyfour_fire_2d.wav file you mentioned and now, my Colt sounds like a man's gun and not a kid's toy. Thank you so much for your help, handholding and patience. :D
I don't know all the firearms in Hunt, but is it possible to replace all the vanilla and DLC weapon sounds? It's a little strange hearing the amazing hunting rifle and then switching to the assault rifle or pipe weapons and hearing dinky normal sounds.
