thx for mod, should protected npcs be dying from the grab move since they should only be killable by the player, (i believe the protected flag is what that means), just had a protected npc taken down and die like the normal kill move. i'm guessing the damage done with this attack that normally isn't used unless it could kill makes it ignore or bypass the protected status?
This mod won't kill any protected NPCs. The killing annotation setting is in the animation file. If the game can't read the animation file in this mod, the animation will kill any actor that Yaoguai attacked. Maybe you didn't install this mod correctly. Maybe something about archive invalidation. Please mod this game by Mod Manager not by your hand.
mod installed correctly, not reporting a bug just asking a question, the actor didn't die on first hit but on the second hit of the animation, setting the npc to essential works for me, as they are caravan and I don't want them to die anyway, so no worries
The modded animation just makes normal hits. It won't kill a protected NPC. The carvans from bunker hill in vanilla game are not protected. Even you add a protect flag on them. It won't become protected because the flags is baked in your save from the start. You can't change it in mid game.
they alrdy had protected flag, i added essential flag, and tested and they didn't die after essential was added. i was thinking in the same way protected status could die from poison ticks that keep ticking after they go down that they could die from animation that had damage ticks, but idk about that.
- just checked again before posting and Crickett got taken down again but didn't die, i don't remember hearing the flags on npcs are baked into save but changing her to essential has made her not die from the grab move. So if flag cant be changed i am unsure why but with essential flag added midgame it seems to keep her from dying on me.
want to say i like your mods, just added the workbench sounds, rly nice how something simple can add a nice little touch to game, thank you
Hate to say it but this is killing my protected settlers as well, the other grab skill mods work fine but the yao guai one either damages the yao guai instead of me when it grabs or kills protected npcs i've reinstalled multiple times and there are no conflicts in xedit (all files are also present). Like i said the other grab skill mods work fine just not this one for some reason.

I can't seem to get this mod to work.
All the other mods of this type of yours work beautifully, just not this one and I'm sure its something I'm doing wrong but I've tried everything I know of (load order, reinstall, checked my characters race etc (I even activated god mode and let a yaoguai have at me for 5 minutes to see if it was just bad luck but nothing, I tried it with more than one bear aswell)).
Any advice?

so, i thought this was cool to have, but last time i fought a yao guay as mele character i got grabbed everytime i had a chance to stand up, sometimes in the very middle of my retaliation attack, and i mean, the very first swing i could finally get to give to the damned thing after being grab-locked, i was grabbed AGAIN, it was very frustrating, so yeah, thats it, im uninstalling, sorry.
still great mod for people that are not mele focused... i suppose :/

The killing annotation setting is in the animation file. If the game can't read the animation file in this mod, the animation will kill any actor that Yaoguai attacked. Maybe you didn't install this mod correctly. Maybe something about archive invalidation.
