@Vroeteldoos: I've been using your mod recently and I really liked it, so I decided to make a mod that applies a similar idea to the Minigun that you get on that rooftop, sort of a companion mod to yours.
Hey kevkas, just wanted to give you a friendly heads up that the link you posted goes to your concord supermutant boss instead of deathclaw mod. Love these types of mods! Thanks to you both for making them !
Love this mod! Thanks for sharing it! I see you have open permissions for porting this. Would love to have this on my game on Xbox. Mind if I go ahead and port it with full credit to you?
Endorsed regardless, because it's great! It'll be a part of my load order on PC when my beat up machine gets fixed up, or I upgrade, or I decide to simply risk running the game on my laptop. Thanks again !
Eyyyyyyyy, was just looking for exactly this type of mod. I think the one thing wrong with the vanilla quest is simply that you get to keep the power armor and the minigun. and then they nerf the minigun into oblivion so that it's not overpowered but it's a FREAKING MINIGUN IT SHOULD CUT A CAR IN HALF - ahem... Anyways, thank you for making this.
Thank you for this mod. Love the concept. I've actually thought for some time now that something like this should have been in the base game. PA is strong on lower difficulties, but on higher ones can sometimes feel like tissue paper, and I've always thought a part of that was them having to balance you getting it straight out the gate. IMO, it would have been better if PA was stronger, rarer, and the first suit had a scripted sequence where it burns out as soon as you're finished with the deathclaw fight. This helps fill that void for me.
That's a really good idea, and actually even doable with this mod as a base. Just record a computerised voice saying, "WARNING: FUSION CORE INSTABILITY DETECTED. THERMAL DETONATION IN T MINUS 45 SECONDS. MINIMUM SAFE DISTANCE: THREE HUNDRED YARDS. EXIT POWER ARMOUR NOW." This happens immediately after Preston goes back inside.
If they're still in the power armour, place a mininuke explosion at the player's back and kill the player. If they exit the power armour and the BrokenT45 furniture item is left behind, a mininuke spawns 45 seconds after it mentioned the number "45" (so actually less than 45 seconds if the player stays inside) and the power armour is disabled (disappears). If the player gets clever and the power armour no longer contains a fusion core at any point, kill the player with a mininuke explosion immediately, since the power armour was the only thing keeping it from exploding instantly.
[edit] Heh, kinda had a little fun with this. Used an online Dalek vocoder and Microsoft Anna with a bit of tone generation to rig up an appropriately pulp/retro Bitching Betty. CC0/Public Domain: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mkhgd213q1fn0d8/45seconds.mp3?dl=0 if anyone wants to give it a crack. Carefully timed the detonation for 50 seconds, and the T-minuses are each accurate at the time she finishes saying "seconds".
Letting it blow up or just get disabled would've been neat. But, I instead opted for the simpler (and less cartoonish) approach that gets the job done. Scripted sequences are more likely to introduce bugs and takes more effort to implement.

Concord - Broken Minigun on Rooftop
Anyway, I figured I should share the link here, thanks for the Broken T-45 mod, was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Endorsed!
