An overlay helper thing has been added to optional files. I am not the original author and i do not know where it's from or where i found it, i've repacked it and added compatibility for 3 different sunglasses.
If the original author recognizes it and wants it removed, i will.
My game sometimes crashes when I make an adjustment, and it's possibly tied to several performance mods I recently downloaded. I didn't have that issue before. I'm gonna figure out which ones are causing them and try to get back.
I downloaded Modern Firearms, and while I think it's a great mod, some weapons had misalignment issues, especially some which would shoot way off, and I just accepted that I just wouldn't use those guns.
Thank you! I was able to 'correct' some Modern Firearms ACOG sights that were off center. I never used FO4Edit so it took me around 30min to figure out what is what.
Anyone who has difficulties with this please note you have to add lines manually to your hotkeys.ini file as described on the description page. After that you use the NumPad keys to 'move' your weapon/sight to the correct position.
Took long enough for the overlay to get uploaded here lol. I dreaded the idea of aligning sights but the overlay pretty much made it a simple (albeit, tedious) process.
It would be really really really really really really really really really cool if this could remember each weapon/attachment you modify, then automatically apply the adjustments whenever you had that weapon/attachment combo equipped. That would eliminate most of the need to go to xedit and adjust sights.
Bonus points if it could read offsets from .txt files in your directory so people could share them for guns that needed them
Definitely would not be "cool". Sounds more like peak laziness. This tool already reduces the time to align sights to just a few minutes per sight (if even that). This is as good as it's gonna get. Besides, every responsible mod user should know their way around xedit. Getting rid of reasons to use it (like things such as scripted LL injections, yuck) just further the slow decay the modding community has been at for years.
Take a screenshot , use OCR on it and paste the results in a document. There you go. But why would you need to have an IO for txts with offset data if you could simply apply the changes to an overwriting esp anyways?
Just a heads up regarding the overlay. The overlay framework mod will prevent you from auto/quicksaving if there's anything in your eyes armorslot. Regardless, this overlay is a great utility

This fixed the issue :)
