You should add an optional file that increases the damage but changes the ammo requirement to plasma cartridges - to me, it feels cheaty to use a vastly inferior ammo and get the same damage output. I like the idea, though, I hate plasma weaponry.

I agree! I've just released Version 1.1 which changes ammo types to Plasma Cartridges

Wow, awesome! And timely, too! I'll definitely give this a go. Thanks so much!

I can see where you guys are coming from, but to me it doesn't make sense. Since the old version doesn't work with the latest fallout update, would you consider putting up an optional file with the standard ammo requirements for those who feel like I do?

The serious problem with this mod is that armor checks are made for both Physical and Energy hits from the Plasma rifle....

    50 armor and 50 damage=50% damage reduction

50 armor and 100 damage=Almost no damage reduction.

Laser is making one check and is alot higher so it gets a massive damage buff, I have not tested it but I know you can change damage from multiply to add and by adding an extra physical damage property you could balance the laser with Plasma perfectly. In theory.

That's an interesting point. I didn't take into account that damage reduction is based on ratios of damage to armor.

I checked, and it is possible to add X amount of physical damage to the laser, but the problem is, additional weapon mods which boost damage are not able to boost that added physical damage; only the energy damage. So you're left with a constant X amount of physical damage no matter what other mods are on the gun. This happens because the multipliers from other mods are based on the BASE damage of the gun, and since I'm not touching the base versions at all, the Physical Damage multipliers have nothing to multiply.

But even though the Equalized Lasers ignore more armor like you said, the damage of a fully modded Equalized Laser is still slightly less than a fully modded Plasma gun, due to the lower base damage of lasers vs. plasma. So it's not perfect, but since there doesn't seem a way to implement scaling physical damage, I'm happy with how it is.

If it turns out there is a way to put in scaling physical damage on the Capacitor without touching the base weapons, I would definitely implement it.

Ya know I love the plasma weapons' design and everything compared to laser weapons...but god do I hate the projectile requiring you to be so spot on to the enemy. Gotta say though I'm eager to try this mod

Looks great. I'm going to be TFG and ask which tool you used to make it

I used FO4Edit. It's a nice little tool until Beth releases the Creation Kit. You can download it on the Nexus here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2737/?

That was a good idea to double the requirements to that of the overcharged capacitor. Very nice mod!
