Welp, might as well find out the hard way if it works or not. ¯\_(?)_/¯ Just kidding it works. ...we think... ...you know what? You should check and let us know.
Can you port this to Xbox? I saw this mod in a picture ages ago and have been looking for it ever since. I was crushed when I found out it was here though and not on Bethesda. I was even more crushed when I realised that pc Bethesda mods don’t work on Xbox anyway. But now that I’ve found the mod, I would really appreciate it if you could upload to Bethesda for Xbox one so that I can use it?
I don't know why, but I can't seem to get things to work with this mod. When I enter the PA, the wings start out deployed instead of retracted, which means they don't "deploy" since they're already extended. On top of that, the jetpack just functions normally, and doesn't spin the propellers or do anything. Like the propellers will spin ONCE but only when dropping from a height, and they'll only spin slowly. Then never again.
I'm assuming when it's working, it'll all start with the wings stowed away, you double-jump to start the jetpack, the wings deploy ala Buzz Lightyear, and the props spin super fast and you start flying like normally. In my case, none of that is working. Maybe it's my load order, so I moved it to the top/bottom, tried the esl/esp versions, and nothing seems to do the trick. I do have the Cross Jetpack mod as well, but I don't think that really should conflict since they're just piggybacking off of the same system (the PA jetpack mechanic). I also have the little mod that decreases AP use with the jetpack, but that's really just changing a variable, and shouldn't have an impact on things, right?
Alright, so disabling the CROSS jetpack seems to make this mod work as intended, but I'm not entirely sure why they conflict. Swapping the order around in the left menu of MO and the right menu don't seem to make a difference. Not really sure how I can have my cake and eat it too. I want the cool propellers, but I love having a jetpack for general traversal outside the Power Armor.
Which armor sets does this work for and what it it called? If it's called "jet pack" then it is probably being over written by another one. Is there any chance that it could be named the "Prop Pack" or something like that, so it is easier to see if it is showing up?
Yeah, the image in the Images tab is misleading (was an image from earlier on). It's called Jet-Prop Pack at the PA station and in inventory, iirc. Yeah (though I can't recall at all why I did each one separately, lol...probably had a reason at the time, hehe...'probably' )
Okay thanks. I was trying to see if I could add it to some of the other PA sets I have, but it wasn't showing up, so I thought it might have been over written by another mod.
Thanks for responding and I hope you have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. :)
Alright! This is what I'm talking about! I Endorsed this as fast as possible! It looks amazing! In fact this thing on a T51 it looks leagues better than the supposedly original Beth design pictured below! That thing is an abomination and an affront to Todd!
Execution wise however it could use some work, especially given the fact that it seems to heavily rely on the balance of the vanilla jet pack, which let's be honest is pretty much garbage!
I would humbly advise that the mod creator take some pointers from a mod titled "Better Jetpack (Faster and Longer)":
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11010
A mod which in my honest opinion seems to completely fix the jet pack problem in the game (especially the first option) in a, dare I say in a very simple and effective way! It actually makes jet packs practical, more than just a stupid curiosity!
Thank you for this gem! Might actually attempt to modify for myself at some point.
Which is, in fact, why I suggest the use of one of those types of mods in the description. :) It really is quite cooler to be able to go for longer distances, the props spinning as they do for th duratio. Although, I do quite like the intentional inconsistency of the small mechanic we did here where the props occasional refill your AP, that's a bit fun.
Yes I understand! The problem is your mod sadly does not benefit from the suggested mod's "speed up" effect! Which greatly accelerates the jet once it pretty much reaches the top of its traveling the arc, resulting in an actual flying experience! I'm telling, you can jump from one Skyscraper to another without much of a problem, a thing which was almost impossible in vanilla. And sadly pretty much the same goes with this mod in it's current state as well, the arc is just way too vertical.
I'm honestly gonna try replacing the AP regaining effect with a similar speed up effect in this mod. Wish me luck!
Ah, hmm, I see... Hey, well, if you do something interesting with it and get something you like, feel free to post it as a patch on Nexus (just remember to master to this one). Totally allowed for you if you do, as I’m sure I’d enjoy it too.

...unless I've misunderstood your question...?

If you decide to make a patch, feel free to post it, mastered to this, on Nexus if you like. <thumbs_up>
This brotherhood pilot came running and entered my jetpack trying to operate it!
Jk ofc, i love it
