I seem to have made a slight error with this mod. Curie (my chosen romance). Decided she wanted to talk at the most awkward time ever in my game. I quickly shut her up, but later I`m not getting any more approaches from her and I cannot kickstart one with her. Is there a way for me get that romance option working while in this game?
If you are on PC, go into console, type the below lines (substitute ##### for your companion's ID) and then talk to the companion again to retry the conversation.
This mod is something i've been looking for a very long time and it's a really great idea, but (idk if it's just me) the conversations still repeat, not as much as they used to but every so often they repeat again. Is there any way to get them to stop asking permanently?
This was a great idea. I am not one to change my mind, even after 23 chances to do so, because there's this thing on the menu called New that starts a new game.
Also, I'm 50 years old and still don't find Doc Filmore attractive.
You may be thinking of Settler and Companion Dialogue Overhaul, that one is much more involved. It does limit some dialogue but unlocks a ton more for variety.
Yes, I'm sure that's the one he's thinking of, but there are those folks that have philosophical objections to certain mods that Thuggysmurf has been involved with and won't use it for that reason.
Some people didn't like some of the dialogue changes Thuggysmurf made in SCDO, and were puzzled as to why he wouldn't change them back. I'm sure there are other things too.
Correct. He made some changes that imho did not need changing and didn`t help at all. It`s one of those situations where someone goes too far and actually starts restricting freedom rather than adding it. Some won`t notice it, but i`m very aware when somebody starts to do more than what a mod was supposed to do, which was toa dd more conversational stuff, not start removing it.
Further to that, point this out politely (at least make it optional) to the modder and then he either deletes your comment or lumps you in with `14 year olds`. I don`t use mods of modders that act that way.
Feel free to send me a private message with the changes you think he should have left out that restrict freedom, so we don't clog this comments section with unneeded discussions.
Bethesda seems to like to put repeat conversations in their products for some reason! Happens a lot in their games, remember that introduction speech in Windhelm where Ulfric and his second Galmar keep repeating a conversation at nausea unless one joins the faction?
Yes it is a good speech, probably some of the best voice acting in the series, but still leaving it on repeat like that is just weird!
Only recently did I find a mod that fixes that and you'll hear the speech only once. Having exchanged a message or two with the author I basically ended up asking him If there was a reason that it was left that way....like if it is somehow tied to a quest, he says no, and that "There was no practical reason why it was left the way it was"....other than Bethesda's trademark weirdness I'd say!
Anyway thank you for cleaning up after these clowns, wonder how long this took! I'll also have to check for compatibility with other companion mods!
Loosk very compatible! Unless a mod directly touches the conversations themselves this should be compatible with anything and everything! Unless this game pulls something weird again!
Yeah, that conversation with Ulfric and Galmar was good but needlessly repetitive. Making this sorta mod was real quick and easy. In the Creation Kit there's a box for dialogue you can tick which is named 'Say Once' or something like that. Ticking it makes it so they don't repeat themselves. I only had to find the related dialogue for each companion and Allie to make it so they didn't repeat themselves.

I doubt I'm the only one who thinks so.
