Copy the "Fallout4" folder from the saved game that you downloaded and paste it into the "My Games" folder, inside the "Documents" folder. Directory: C:\Users\Your user name\Documents\My Games
At last i found an almost complete vanilla savegame to play with sim settlements.3 things i want to point out though. First you are sided with the Institute (which doesn't me affect me at all for my SS playthough) but have Deacon as companion lol.Anyway i solved it by unmanaging him. Second you haven't obtained the Bunker Hill although you have done the Battle of Bunker Hill so i talked to Kessler and i obtained the workshop afterwards. And third you had maxed out all your perks so i solved this issue by resetting them with a mod. Things to mention i liked about the savegame is a) Concord is empty so i can built from scratch without the idle useless npc's that pre-existed, b)both Vault 88 and Mechanist's lair unlocked and all other settlements almost empty. c)no supply lines at all so i could apply the lines as i liked and not searching every individual provisioner to reposition him/her. Good job :) (endorsed it of course)
Genuinely curious because I've seen save downloads before and have never downloaded one. What is the appeal is downloading someone else's finished game save where you can't do any more quests? What is the purpose?
As I see it, unlock achievements. Sometimes people are at a loss to finish an entire game like Fallout 4, so they play the main campaign and then download a saved game, say 100%. We also have the possibility that you have already completed the game in the past and want to play the game without having to do it all over again. In addition to other things ...
I personally use clean saves when i am trying to find the mod that causes crashes in my game, because some mods "corrupt" your save and a save at 100% allows me to skip all synematics and tutorials to better test the game or sometimes i just use the command "coc RedrocketExt" to do test, although the load difference of this method is remarkably long for some reason
