If you want the ambient occlusion to be slightly lighter and brighter, just lower fPowerExponent. It's exponential, so even small lowerings make big difference. Try with 5.5 or 5.0
EDIT:
Try those new settings, please report how they work for you:
Tried these settings out and comparing them both, the new one definitely looks better. I'm still getting some flickering, kinda looks like film grain on some spots, not sure what I can do about that. Otherwise, all good.
Your tweaks broke mods like nac x, ultra exterior lighting. No complaints, just letting you know. Who faced the same problem just turn off and turn on back this mods in vortex.
Very late to this, but assuming you guys were using the latest version of BethINI at the time - there was a bad tweak to the HBAO+ included in that version that caused a grid-like pattern on everything, which THESE HBAO+ settings would have fixed. That was a long time ago now, and has since been remedied in newer BethINI versions.
Stacking this with the TAA that comes with Reshade made the shimmering trees/bushes almost totally fixed. That shader seems to do really well for me, if anyone else is curious to try.

HBAO+ with this mod will be 10% more performance intensive than regular SSAO (about 5 fps).
I'm using this when I play handheld at 48hz, and I'll switch my ini to regular SSAO when I play externally at 60hz.

If you guys find the exact specifique settings that fixed the grainy pixels, feel free to post it.
