The official mod-kit by the developers isn't out yet, so this means that changing actual Companions/NPCs isn't possible right now. Or that's how I understand it at least. But someone might be working on a way to change NPC-appearance without the kit as we speak. This is the internet after all
In the matter of fact. I am working on right this moment. There is only one thing I have yet to research in order to start editing NPC's from scratch. Whether it's names, Armor, Meshes, Dialouge, ETC.
If you are interested in helping me Research, it'll really help. It'll be one step ahead of Bethesda! Haha.

Or now is good. I got a better solution for you my friend.
I know this guy, who knows another guy, who knows what he's doing. Here's what he said.
"You can open up the console and type in "slm Id-of-the-NPC". For Cait it SHOULD be "slm 00079305". That opens up the editor (you have to close the console first). As long as you're in the console you can click on any NPC to get it's ID (use the mousewheel if you can't seem to get the right ID) and change their appearance.
Oh and it really helps if you're standing right in front of the NPC you want to edit...otherwise you might not be able to actually see what you're doing "

Smart man. Wise words. Hope it helps you. I know I learned a thing or two.
EDIT: Okay, at closer look I see it's extremely buggy, so it'll require a few reloads Also, I recommend to fix her face first. Then in the end fix her eyecolors, because they're going to literally pop out of her skull at first. However, if you quick-travel to a place far away enough to trigger the load-screen, the eyes will adjust themselves correctly. So you need to combine the edititing with reload/saves/and quick travels Just remember to have a backup save way before this.
Another tip is to combine it with the "TFC 1" console command, that freezes time. It keeps the model still and you can get close to the face. But the model is stuck in time then.. so there's that. Use it before and after the SLM command.

As I said I love the outfit, but I have a really good Cait Mod, and cannot use this mod with that one.
