Hello again, found one more thing you may want to fix. It appears the map marker is missing for Hub City Auto Wreckers. How many caches should I be looking for here? Thanks again, I'm still having lots of fun with your mod. I'm doing them all in alphabetical order and I think I've found about half of them so far. Have a great weekend! :)
Thank you for the information. You MUST remove any previous versions before playing this one. The form ID's have been changed, so if using both there will be a conflict and may cause strange dual items to show or re-appear at strange times, plus a lot of jittery items because of Havok conflicts.
This new file Must be run from a clean save without other versions installed.
One last thing to report, at the Salem Wilderness Marker, the ammo box and tool box both fade away shortly after finding them. They literally vanished right before my eyes, like they became see-through and then disappeared one at a time, it was really weird to see actually.
Thanks again and I look forward to playing the next scavenger hunt! :)
Found one more disappearing toolbox at the Reactor Domes. Interestingly, it still says "You found a Scavenger Hunt Toolbox" when I approach where it should be. Also, the lid of the wooden box jiggles up and down after it disappears.
I'm still using the original mod so maybe this is not an issue with the new file. I have a couple locations left in the original version and then I'm going to replay it with the new mod you just posted. Thanks again!

PS - I love how dogmeat helps with the scavenger hunt too! :)
Thanks for making this mod, it's exactly what I was looking for. I can tell some of the caches will be difficult to find. I enjoy the challenge.
PS - I was a bit confused when I couldn't find the files on the shelf right away, but then I realized I needed to read the note next to the body first and all was good.
Definitely, will do. I actually just noticed one of these two toolboxes disappeared. I saved my game just after finding them, but when I loaded my save a few days later I noticed one was gone. I then went back to an earlier save game and they were both there again, but the one on the left again disappeared after a few minutes. I'll let you know if I notice anything else odd. Thanks again! :)
That may be caused by remnants of an old version still installed or a save that still has the old mod in it. I don't know how far along you are in the game, but if you decide to start a new playthrough, please start with no old saves. do you have two or more of my mods installed? if so, this could also be two mods using the same location, I will check on that.
Oh no its not like that. I didn't make any changes with it, I just had to confirm something with the ammo in regards to the weapons you made for the mod. Once I was in the game and I found the appropriate ammo, it all worked out. Thanks. I am really enjoying finding the scavenger locations.
I feel like such an idiot. I couldn't find the bookshelf that had the files on it... I thought it was one of those furniture bookshelves, not a wall bookshelf My idiocy aside, you did a great job on this mod, no surprise. I would however like a number countdown on the location markers, and maybe for them to disappear once I've found all the things. My map is getting very crowded
It's nice to look for and find stuff without just grind-looting. A couple questions: The bottle cap map icon says there are two items at Abernathy Farm. Standing approximately 20 meters from the bull pen in the direction of, and looking toward Concord, the bottle cap disappears from my compass. I spin around toward the farm and it appears again. I am not 'associated' with the farm yet. <Does that have to happen for me to get access to, and collect the items? How do I know when I found them? At the Parson's Creamery, nothing was 'owned' by anyone, so the cache there did not need to be 'stolen'. I'm assuming the Parson's cache was the duffle bag up in the rafters. The bottle cap icon for that location remains on my map. If a location is cleared, that icon should also disappear from the game map.
JDUBEN No association with the farm is required. The two items at Abernathy farm are Close to the Garden outer edge facing Red Rocket. A duffel bag and an Ammo container. The ammo container is hidden among some bushes and trees, may be a bit hard to spot, the duffel bag is easy to see, ONCE you have actually triggered the Bottle Cap Marker which is approximately 1/2 way between both caches. Use your map to see where you are in comparison to the marker, you will eventually activate the marker enabling fast travel if you ever need to go back there.
The map marker will stay visible, giving you access to the stuff later as the caches do re-spawn and will offer different items.
Named sounded familiar if I remember the other caches you placed around the commonwealth.
I downloaded and tried this last night - didn't find the cache locations document as shown in your pics - I consoled one into inventory and the locations showed up - I will go visit tonight and see what you have hidden for us.
MrCruelJohn So, you found the first note laying on the ground at the feet of the dead Scavenger at the entrance to the Red Rocket Cave, read the note, took a key off the dead scavenger, went into the first house across the bridge, killed the rad roach, but still did not find any files on the bookshelf?
Updated mod... found a script that may have caused the issue for you.
Hey RD, Thanks for bringing your talents over here to FO4. I enjoy your stuff on SSE and I am glad your taking some time to make stuff for my other favorite RPG on PC. Thanks dude. Hope to see other stuff from you on here soon.
Well generally the Wasteland is a pretty harsh and dangerous place. Wouldn't mind seeing a few enemies close to some of the caches that you set down. Whether it be a kind of strong Boss or a normal boss and some lackeys or just some enemies in general but not all of the locations. That would take away from the fun of going after them. You don't want to create a grind fest while trying to find the loot, especially when you expect there to be enemies at every single location.
Perhaps one of the items you find in a cache could start a mini quest to return a valuable item to someone or maybe force the player to decide whether to use the item, sell it or return it to the rightful owner. I believe that would require some scripting and I am not sure your willing to devote that much time for a scavenger hunt type mod. Of course this doesn't have to happen at every single location but maybe a few. These options for the items create an interesting decision for the player and what to do with various items as they find them. Since its a RPG, then the player can decide what to do based on their play style and what kind of character they roll up. Makes it interesting
These are just a couple of ideas that I have off the top of my head. I would like to hear your other ideas of what you have planned tho. Thanks
Sweet glad I could help.A question tho. If you make any updates or changes to this mod in the future, is it safe to update mid-game or is a new save required? Thanks in advance

Suggestions from users are what make moders strive to improve the mod.

I will definitely look into that soon. At the moment I'm on another project that is taking all my time.
Thank yo for your suggestion
