Anyone know how a landscape overhaul mod like commonwealth reclamation project, when used with this mod causes me to CTD upon loading?

Should call this 'Aspect Ratio fixes' patch.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I use 2560 x 1080 and this still works rather well.

It sure does! This mod is seriously underrated and underrepresented. Its totally undiscoverable name must have a lot to do with it. I really found it just now by pure accident. Anyway, 3440 x 1440 and... it just works!

Edit: Okay, lots of things are still wrong, the worst of all scopes. But it seems at least HUDMenu.swf works, which would allow to use HUD Framework without much fumbling around.

Just to note, TruBy9 has done excellent work putting all fixes together, but there all swf have been edited, and some issues remain anyway. I'll see if by editing this mod's configuration and putting two methods together carefully a 100% fix can be achieved.

I may be a newb here but I'm having trouble installing this mod. I tried with NMM but no dice, and I looked through the github instructions, but cant see the TOML file anywhere, even when I downloaded the files manually.

Could you possibly put together step by step install insctructions up for people with little experience modding? This seems like the best option for my 21:9 display but I can't figure it out!

The TOML file is optional. It's only if you want to change from the default configuration (which should work fine in most cases). To install the mod you simply drop the XInput1_3.dll in the Fallout 4 folder. I'll have to look into why it isn't working with NMM.

Joining the noob club, I did drop the dll in the Fallout 4 folder, but it doesn't seem to be working for me, sadly.

This is the Wrench.log that was created in my ini folders:

      Thank you!

Looks like the same problem FlynTie had below with a cracked executable. Not saying that yours *is* cracked, but it's the same problem. If it isn't, have you applied any other patches to the executable?

It is cracked indeed! I did figure it out after reading all the posts. Hate the Steam overlay, though.

Gonna be playing in 16:9 for now then

You could try using the Flawless Widescreen plugin for fo4. I am not cracked but it works great for me. http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/

I'd love to use this, but I crash right after startup every time. The game seems to want to load, but as soon as the intro is about to play, CTD.

With a resolution of 2560 x 1080 I was hoping that I could use this and finally try some other UI mods that make things a little better, like larger barter\trade windows.

I manually installed and dropped the XInput1_3.dll into the Fallout folder. Not the data folder. (I also noticed that with the NMM version it puts it into the data folder.) I'm assuming that the data folder is not correct.

I also completely removed all reshade, enb related files from my Fallout folder to try and troubleshoot this. With a Vanilla install and no other UI mods, I still crash right after startup.

    Update:
So I managed to get this to load finally. I deleted all of the .ini's and verified the integrity of game cache with Steam to load all ini's back to default.

Howerver, this seems like it wants to work, but the background of menus is skewed to the right. With my resolution set to 2560x1080 some elements are scaled properly, and some are just out of place or skewed.

Also tried windowed, borderless, and full screen and no change to this.

Also seems like this doesnt want to even load the game about 1/3 of the time.

I've noticed a crash if you configure the game in the way NMM suggests that you should, but *only* if you've extracted some of the meshes from the game into the Data folder. In particular, the Meshes\Interface\Objects\HUDGlassFlat.nif must *not* exist.

Do you have a screenshot? I think I might know what it is.

Here are a few screenshots to show what I am talking about. It seems like the same thing as one of the bug reports on your github page, mine just goes off the other direction.

I also noticed that it never wants to load with the custom launcher with FO4 Tweaker by Bilago. I only ever have success with the default launcher, but still have the issues in the screenshots.

When this works it seems to be the best solution for 21:9 out of everything I have tried. Unfortunately I can't get it to work properly every time I load up the game. I usually have to move the XInput1_3.dll out of the Fallout 4 folder, load up the game, exit, move the file back into the folder and then load the game again.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar...

I use a 4:3 ratio monitor (1600 X 1200) and the backdrop alignment issues in most UI menus was ruining my experience so far with FO4.

All my backdrop alignment problems are now history, thanks to you. And I didn't even have to modify the default values in a custom file at that!

Note to other users using 4:3 ratio resolutions: in my case, using iSize H=1199 and iSize W=1599 as custom values in the Fallout4Prefs.ini config file solved the "invisible" lockpicking screen issue. You might want to try this documented hack (adapted to your specific resolution, of course) if you have that problem too.

That's weird. It still works on my end. The log suggests something is seriously bad with your executable, but you'd have bigger issues if that was the case.

Are you using the steam version? Cracked executable? (No judgment! Just trying to figure out why it would fail.)

That was the issue, was using the cracked executable to bypass steam since it kept starting every time i launched fallout and i'm on a machine where every MB or free ram counts but no worries it works again with the original executable. And before anyone feels the need to hang me for using the cracked executable be assured i bought the game legitimate, i'm just not a big fan of having third-party apps running all the time in the background.

Will this fix UI Elements for custom FOV settings in standard 16:9 ratios?

I didn't know there was an issue with that. Do you have a screenshot of what the issue is specifically?

If it's that some piece of UI stretches, it could potentially fix it.

It has the same effect as in the "before and after" picture you posted. I'll try it out and report back since I have some time now.

update: I've tried going through all the listed settings on GitHub in the .toml with no luck. It did change the UI elements with some settings, but I could not get it to expand UI elements to fit the screen with custom FOV settings.

What is your FOV set to? I use a custom one and have not noticed any issues. But maybe yours is more extreme than mine.

Will this work for 1920X1200? (16:10)?

Yes, and no. It will allow you to modify the scale mode of UI elements. It doesn't do any backdrop fixing though (since, the game already does that for 16:10 by default).

The workshop menu will have the same issue it does for other resolutions. It's something I'm working on whenever I get the chance to. https://github.com/rhoot/fo4-wrench/issues/1
