There allready is such a mod, called "modern shipping containers" However, you need to disable precombines in order to make it work, due to how placed shipping containers in the world works. Here's the link if you are interested, but read the sticky about precombines first in that mod.
Dummy me. Wen't out looking for vanilla containers at the shipping locations across the map only to find out the containers are for settlement building only. Nice job though. really nice work.
Thank you but in the lore it says it's actually spelled "c*%!-oiner", could you fix that? Also increase the recoil a bit and maybe add an ACOG?. Thanks, enborsed!
Just thought i would ask, is this mod updated with the doors, open, closed and all that yet? as it looks very good with it and would be perfect for my plans at spectacle island.
@firetruckboy Hello, I just made a shipping container with an interior. Image

I edited meshes in 3ds max to adapt them to the size of containers from the game with an accuracy of ~ 1 unit in the game (1.428 cm 0.5625 ") I used original collisions so there should be no problems with them. Replacement modification is ready, below game comparison. Image
Three types of containers, closed (original), without doors and without doors on both sides. Attachable door that opens. Three types of floors, wood, playwood, metal. Of course, all this in all texture colors and types that exist in the original modification.
What do you think of a shipping container that has one - or both - of the long sides removed, or a half-wall - could be used with mods that add a 'rug' shop, or guard post, a addition to a house, etc
for the love of atom, please upload as a mod, only issue would be the use of paid assets by the original author :(
considering this would be a publically available mod, unless you specifically paid for a licence to the assets it may not be legal to post your mod of it :(
your version would be absolutely amazing though, it's something i wish the vanilla containers were, though i'd personally prefer to keep the more true to life size of containers
Lets just take a moment and appreciate cool little introduction this guy wrote about shipping contaners. Also this is type of mod that nobody asked for, but its the mod we all needed.
I could download and check, but better to ask so 2 questions; 1 Do these stack and lock together? 2 are they in-game "Heavy", as in once placed they cant be moved by players/creatures bumping into them? please.

I present a working doors. :p
Containers will be able to stack and snap to each other.
NavMesh has to be done and the new version will be ready.
Summary of the new version:
Three basic container versions
Closed as in the previous version.
Open on one side, you can attach opening doors.
Open on both sides, you can attach opening doors on both sides.
Working doors.
And of course everything in six colors and three levels of wear for each color.
I just don't have time to do more, too many projects to finish.
