Vanilla FO4 doesn't use real-world gun names (whether for trademark issues or matter of priniciple). And secondly the .44 "western" revolver in Nuka is indeed prob meant to be a Colt Army Pistol - specifically the Colt Frontier Six Shooter variant, which was rechambered from .45 to .44 (to use the same ammo as the 1873 Winchester rifle) and became the iconic cowboy pistol - eg, as used at the O.K. Corral gunfight. But I'd agree it could do with a a bit of an additional stat boost.
I think the names aren't really the problem as much as the fact that the "Western Revolver" is really just a reskinned "44 pistol" from base-game Fallout 4 instead of an actual old-fashioned single-action. While a .44 might have been used historically in some capacity or another, the real issue I had was that we already had a .44 magnum in the base game.
If they're actually going to bother adding new weapons to the leveled lists and the game in full-blown expansions, it should at least be something we didn't have before. FO4 still uses real world guns in addition to make-belief guns even without the actual brands and names. But unfortunately, Bethesda didn't actually make the single action revolver a reality until Fallout 76.
this was a fantastic mod, but is made a little obsolete by the new colt peacemaker mod. even so, if you have less space on your pc, or don't want to worry about getting additional mods for reload framework, this mod is a great alternative even still.
Hi, loving this mod for a western style playthrough but I was wondering how you got your weapons in the holster facing forwards in the images. I have Classic Holstered Weapons but it only shows up on my hip and without the holster. if you could provide any help it would be appreciated.
Sorry for the late answer, I´ve been away from Fallout 4 for months. The left holstered model is in the folder meshes/ednarg/holsted weapons The weapon model is called ColtSAholsteredLEFT.nif The holster model is called HolsterRevolverLeft.nif
They are only models, a "modders resources", not implemented into the mod, but it´s not hard to make them useful with the creationkit, or even easier just replacing some other meshes, by example, replacing one of the left leg armor with the holster and then one of the Friffy visible weapons models (like the machete) with the revolver model When I have more time I´ll update the mod (maybe), but I am playing other stuff right now

A Little odd the mods on the weapon barely reflect any change on the revolver per se. The long barrel is like barely half an inch longer than the long barrel. Any chance for an update to this? slightly longer barrel and different types of grip textures? I personally like how this one looks better than the F4NV SSA one

BTW, I like my model more than that, but that one is totally functional (from the people making the New Vegas remake, much more "pro" than me, honestly).
