I used to go to that mall. It was fuckin dangerous, there was a very high chance of getting mugged, robbed or beaten if you didn't roll in at least 5 deep.
Sad part is, it wasn't always that way. Not really sure what happened, but in the early 80s til about 87 - 89 it was really a neat place. Used to shop there with the family. Mom & dad would go one way, I would go the other. We'd meet back in 2 or 3 hours.
This is a stunning build. I won't touch it haha, I can't download all that, but I sure enjoyed looking at the pictures and felt you at least deserved a compliment. Truly outstanding work.
Is there a way you can make a version that doesn't use the off site requirements? I'm not really concerned with the accuracy of, I just don't really want to touch the bethesda official website. If you could, that would be much appreciated, because I'm getting giant empty spaces in the ground and missing pieces everywhere., walls are also missing I managed to free up some space for your mod, and really like it. If you could help, that would be appreciated.
from what I see on some of these, looks like your Snappy Kit is out of date, the bottom where the lot originally is suppose to have no floor. I will try at some point to make a non Beth.net version for you but the Noir Snappy Kit use to be here before they (the actual user) took it down for their own reasons same goes for the Creative Clutter.
well I am running a I7-8700k with an RTX 2080 Super with 32gb of DDR43000 on a ASUS ROG Maximus X hero mobo and it still chugs in some areas of the mall as well. I did test it on my Aliemware I7-6th gen with a GTX 1070 and it while slow still took it like a champ, turned off the animations for Transfer settlement to help it.
Something to keep in mind (leftlounge) and everyone:
Manually download the settlement blueprint. Do NOT use a mod manager unless the mod comes with other files. Go to your game folder - Data\F4SE\Plugins\Transfer Settlements\Blueprints. If you don't have this folder or any of the previous folders in the string, make them. You can store up to 50 blueprints within the Blueprints folder.
Open the zip or archive for the blueprint you downloaded. Some mod authors will already have the file structure inside, some will only have the blueprint file itself. You do not have to use the folder number the file comes in. You can make your own numbered folders. For example, you download a blueprint that comes in folder 5 but you want it to be folder 10. Do it! Just drag the blueprint .json file from the archive into your new, empty folder 10 and you're done.
You should also rename the files (which I recommend) so you can remember what they are. Some files have long names that may not make sense. Change it to something easy to recognize in your pip boy, such as: Sanctuary by [mod author] and then when you use Transfer Settlements in game, it will show as that title.
NOTE: After successfully importing your blueprint (and provided that you read the instructions and prepare to go far away for a few in game days) you may notice that when you attempt to fast travel or save your game it may appear that the game is frozen. Just wait. Sometimes saves or fast travel sit suspended for several minutes after import. It does eventually finish the save or travel.
Starlight isn't a bad location, but I'm building one in Country Crossing. It's relatively flat and if I use an expanded borders building mod, it's a nice spot. Plus the name is neutral for my OCD so I just called it County Crossing Mall. I'm original like that.
man, I sure do wish I could use all these tranfer mods, yours looks immensely awesome! But my load order is super crowded and there is no way I can gather every single required mod for this to work
sadly the SOE/snappy version is on indefinite hold. I'm going to have to end up redoing my entire Fallout 4 game install, game is just now completely unstable.
Hi loaded this last night and i noticed some issues. there were missing floor, item, and sign textures and it says i was missing files for things which i shouldn't have been as i installed everything on your download list. Speaking of the file list you need to add the slocum joe's creation pack to the list. i noticed that the projector building cut through your building did i need to find a way to remove it from the lot? also the store near the entrance near the projector screen was it supposed to have a empty store?
the anchor stores are empty on purpose, and I use the Scrap everything mod to remove the the projector and screen. would recommend scrapping it all before transferring it to the lot. if you're missing floors they are the one Noir and Neon Penthouse snappy addon found at Bethesda.net, Noir use to be here on the nexus at one point in time. Thanks for the missing CC item I forgot... had a feeling I forgot something.
As an 80's kid, I'm pretty nostalgic for shopping malls so this is a cool trip down memory lane. For me it was Spring Hill Mall in Dundee, Illinois, and Woodfield Mall in Schaumberg, both suburbs of Chicago. It's seemed a shame that so far we haven't really gotten a true shopping mall ruin in a fallout game. Thanks for this. With all the requirements I'm not sure I'll use it, but I'll definitely download it and endorse. Maybe you could do a video tour, I'd love to see it. Cheers!
My mall was Fox Valley in Aurora. I still remember the slide in Woodfield. This is a very nice recreation of malls from childhood and teen years. I really liked the KB Toys. Good job
It is a pretty amazing build. I'm sure we at some point hit Fox Valley Mall. Woodfield was a rare treat because we needed a ride so my parents only brought us if they were going there or if they had some other errands in the area or downtown Chicago. I remember getting a hot dog and an orange julius before hitting the downstairs movie theater. Good times!

Patience is key.

If I DLed this, I would surely give you an endorsement, but it's not my thing.
Very impressive looking though. Nice work!
