    Have you considered using an AI voice model like ElevenLabs to create new dialog for Danse for existing or expanded quest / voiced lines?

      since my last comment i've used EL for a few things but with some voice actors and their work i'd need permission to do so, and i'm not sure if i have the time or energy to reach out to the voice actor for Danse to ask (and/or pay for his time, i'm broke)

    Very much looking forward to trying this out. Danse is one of those companions I do like for his sheer potential but the Botherhood of Steal is a faction I literally never side with, and most mods to let you keep him are very buggy. This mod looks very stable and nonintrusive, and more importantly more recently updated than most other Danse mods. Ty very much for your work :)

    With this mod, If I choose to kill Maxon during (or before) blind betrayal, will Danse still become hostile towards me?

      he'll only become hostile if you kill Maxson before blind betrayal, i recommend doing so after the quest just in case

    is there a way to make it so that danse no longer hates/dislikes dialogue that's pro-synth? i feel like it would make a lot of sense post blind betrayal

    Great mod, it really doesn't make sense when we got him running around acting like if he's still in BoS. The only improvement I'd suggest is, a lot of dialogues can be edited to remove 'soldier' references without having to remove the whole dialogue. For example "There's no reason to take unnecessary risks like that, soldier." to "There's no reason to take unnecessary risks like that". and you can have two version of the dialogue (with the word soldier, and without) based on the condition of the quest, but you have to splice the sound files up.

    Some of the dialogue might be able to remain in the context that Danse is talking about the Brotherhood in a more 'generic' note - or else he'd be speaking nothing at all. I'd believe he still admires BoS mission even after he's out from it - but may start re-considering about their view on synths. Like the interjections where it's just 'I remember Brotherhhood did this'.

    [I'd imagine Danse is still viewing himself as sort of a straight-edge veteran who would still talking be about 'Back in at war' all the time because military culture is in his heart, and maintain BoS-esque morality. He'd still be hating chem usage, cannibalism, betrayal... he may still hate ghouls and supermutants... but he might be more relaxed in some more aspect.]

      thanks for the kind words! i agree, though the Creation Kit for FO4 confuses me so i'm not sure how i'd go about splicing+adding dialogue with it. surprisingly (for me at least) the FO3/FNV GECK are much easier to navigate than the Skyrim/SSE/FO4 ones

      with programs like Audacity and XVASynth it'd be easy to splice dialogue, but actually implementing it is a nightmare for me since i don't understand how the dialogue trees work in FO4 Creation Kit. sorry!!

      I would actually recommend splicing and editing from the vanilla dialogue first because I guess the 'emotions' of the line would sticks around much better. A lot of it will be a simple removal of 'solider'- the tedious part is cutting out and plugging it back into the Creation Kit...

      I do think XVASynth would be fairly useful if you want to develop the mod further too, to give him something new to say that's more fitting to the situation

      Sadly I still haven't got time to implement the edited lines I mentioned (cut 'soldier' out from his dialogues) but this is sort of a 'lite' version where some of BoS references that does not imply that he is still in BoS are restored...- this sits between vanilla and your version. I made this a while back and I thought I'd remain it a personal use but here I'd rather share it.

      I fixed the link. Now you can open it. it is the dialogue + rename version only though. I don't know if I should be uploading it though since it is mostly just record delete (though It took a while for me to do it)

      I wondered if It is possible for me to make a mod inspired by your mod here? Where I would re-splice and gave additional dialogues for Danse after Blind Betrayal to expand his life and personalities that is beyond the Brotherhood? Perhaps use a script to dynamically change Paladin Danse name into just Danse after you finish the quest.

    Taking this as companion, i got legs cripptled during a fight, what does he says ? be careful, you gonna slow us with your leg.... with a cold bossy voice tone.
    Seriously ?  like he's the boss of a BOS squad and i'm an initiate at his order.... while if i'm not mistaken, the boss is me no ? and my companion are here to help me no.
    Comsequence : openpipboy, companion holotape, dismiss danse , go back to mummy. Never hired him again.

      if you don't like my mod then don't use it. i only removed dialogue lines where he mentions the BOS/power armor/etc; with Danse saying "be careful, you're gonna slow us down" it could arguably be seen as concern - maybe his military background had that phrase be the first to come to mind

      if i were to "make him tolerable" i'd have to completely redo his dialogue from scratch, which i'm not doing. he has a military background so he's still going to fall back on some old habits despite my mod's edits - unless you want him to be completely silent

    Just an FYI, all files still have looksmenu customization compendium and eyes of beauty as masters, even the no appearance ones. It can be fixed quickly in xEdit by yourself if you use wrye bash to make dummy files. How to Remove Masters from a Mod - YouTube

    I am not sure if there's potential conflict with any other mods in my list, but as soon as Danse finishes giving the speech at the end (regardless of whether I chose to be Elder or convince Danse to be the elder), everyone turns hostile.

      "Ad Victoriam", "Subversion - The Institute-Railroad Alliance Alternate Ending", "Face Maxson", and any other mods that edit the BOS questline probably conflict. i'll do my best to make compatibility patches when i can but as of right now i have limited disk space so i can't reinstall FO4 at this time
