Just stopping by to say that, with the exception of FROST, this is my favorite perk overhaul for FO4. And Ive used damn near them all. I've been using it for years and realized I had forgotten to endorse. So have my well earned, albeit belated, endorsement!
Neat idea. But the books being "hand placed" makes me less interested. That means that every time I start a new game, and have a specific character archetype in mind, I just have to drone my way into those different locations to pick up a singular book even if by all logic it would not make sense for my person to go there at the point of time of just waking up from 200 years of cryostasis.
Just wanted to say this Mod was an awesome idea. This was an important step towards making me feel like Fallout 4 was an RPG (instead of just a looter-shooter). Thank you for it.
I wanted to pitch a couple of ideas for further improvement. 1. Have the same book in multiple locations. That way players don't have to worry that they missed the ONE place where they could get their favorite perk. 2. Randomly generated skill books: Have certain locations generate one of the skill books at random with each playthrough. Like an apartment with a bookshelf, or the Boston Library. That would improve diversity in replays.
Even if you don't implement them, I still appreciate the mod as-is. Thanks!
I second this. The mod is an awesome idea, and just like @dmineau mentioned, multiple locations of the same book and book randomization would make it even better. I hope hope you'll consider it @ghostfc3s.
Finally some immersion for this game, kudos dude. cannot believe so little people downloaded this, this should be mandatory for your second play through.
i will try to make a ''lite'' version of this mod if i find the time and have permission from ghostfc3s, i like the general concept but it changes and restricts more than i'd like
You're probably not working on this any more, but an idea I had is to give the player a choice of 3 books when starting a game. The PC has had a life, learned SOME skills, so they should be able to do something, like hacking, or bartering, or whatever. This would flesh out the character a bit more. Wouldn't need to remove the books that were chosen, they just wouldn't do anything. This mod is a great idea, thanks for making it.
You start with a few perks unlocked. Although implied, I haven't personally tested to see if it is different between nate and nora, but nate atleast begins with a few combat perks enabled.
Very, VERY awesome mod I have been using for a while now but there is one tiny thing:
At the start of your character(when you havent found any or much books yet) you can only spend your perk points to the Intense Training perk. This almost always results in maxing out your special fairly early in-game.
To combat this one could just do the one perk every x level thing instead or make the perks have a level requirement with the CK.
Hello, just here to let you know that the Sole Survivor served in the army. it is said at the start of the game, that is also the reason we're allowed to go into the vault, also, a bunch of stuff are pre-war stuff unchanged or slightly modified so it's not so complicated for our character to understand.
