Hi all, I didn't think many people would actually be interested in this especially as a project. I put FO4 down for a while for many reasons, but I'm getting back into it and will likely begin working on this mod series once again. I'll apologize in advance if I'm slow replying to anything, I seem to be missing notifications and have been checking here now manually.
What would you like to see removed next? I see pipe weapons got a mention, I can imagine a lot of people would like to see the ugly bu**ers go lol.
Great mod but for some reason, this removes the walls in the Sanctuary house with the second wave of Bloatflies next to the big tree in the circle. The walls are completely gone and there's no invisible wall, I can just pass over the entire place.
That's the plan! There'll likely be a merged weapons version, merged clothing and/or armor and a complete AIO. I'd prefer an AIO to be an FMOD installer so you get a nice GUI letting you choose what to cut or just put it all in the one .esp or .esl
I for one, haven't figured out how to mod or I'd be, hopefully, blowing up the Nexus with all sorts of quest mods and the like. I REALLY like this idea and I HOPE that you can do me a huge favor and get rid of the mini nuke. I don't care that Bethesda decided to put this in the game and that it was supposed to be LORE FRIENDLY, but in all reality, who the heck would carry something like that without the means. A mini nuke is a nuclear weapon that, from what I have research, a radiated core that a trigger to create a devastating explosion to wipe out your opponents. The problem is, how are you going to carry all that without shielding. I really wish someone could teach me how to mod 'cause like I said, I've have a lot of ideas I think at least some members would enjoy. Enough ranting. I'm tracking and downloading this. Sorry so long a post, but at 62, heck, all I can do is blow smoke. All you modders keep doing what you're doing. No matter what anyone says. You're aces in my book. WBPappy
I will be removing all the vanilla weapons one at a time for simplicity's sake and so people can easily pick and choose what to cut.
As for the mini-nuke being lore friendly, there is a real world equivalent that never really made it out of the prototype stage, the mini-nuke is basically the completed version.
To the mod, very good idea. Currently I only use the vanilla weapons because of a mod which contains weapon destruction which only covers vanilla, but for lovers of custom weapons it's great.
To the mini nuke, nuclear weapons usually do not emit much radiation before detonation. I also have the feeling that in the Fallout universe nobody in charge would care a lot for the welfare of the users.
To modding, install xEdit (in this case FO4Edit) and start playing with it. Certain kinds of modding are quite easy with it, like editing leveled lists, even I can do it. Leveled lists deploy the stuff you and NPCs use in the game. For example once I had all firearms removed from the game except the pipe bolt action, once I had 10 custom weapons spread to several factions. You have the control. For example the best and most reliable way to replace the assault rifle is to remove it from the leveled lists and put a different rifle in.
I don't think you understand how nuclear weapons work. a traditional nuclear bomb isn't constantly radioactive. if it were radioactive, the people who flew the two bombs over japan would have gotten acute radiation sickness, and would've died on the journey. Also, there would not be any pictures of scientists standing next to the nuclear bombs without hazmat suits on. If you meant "shielding" as in like cushioning so that they aren't triggered to explode, i don't see you complaining about the rockets for the missile launcher being carried via the exact same means, or every other explosive...
Please at least flag your ESP as ESL. Its 2020 and a lot of us are at max ESP plugin limit most of the time. A lot of time I really want to try a mod, download the ESP, run Wrye Bash, and find out it isn't eligible for ESL flagging because the mod author did something wanky in the ESP. Especially as you create more of these, ESL flagging is critical.
Three? That's a tad odd, I've never had that, and from what I've learned regarding the vanilla LL settings, it shouldn't happen, unless perhaps a few of the lists randomly trigger at the same time, I know there's multiple lists for each weapon to better manage modded versions etc.
At first look I thought "Why on earth would anyone make such a stupid/odd mod" Then I read the description..........! And I must admit that it makes SO much sense. I hated the vanila weapons from day one (I've been used to realistic - in a game sense- real world weapons ever since FO1) And I use quite a few mods replacing and/or adding real life counterparts. Even the pipe weapons. I seriously doubt that I'm going to use this. But downloading because it deserves an endorsement
Gotta say, I agree, the weapons in FO4 just don't feel as great as past games, they don't feel like they have a connection to current history VS alternate history like in say FO3 and NV. They'd make (more) sense if they wrote them as having been post-bomb made with prewar weapons still here and there.
