not sure if it's this or something else but when certain NPC's get close to me or a battle breaks out the screen goes blurry as though I'm drunk, when I set the global time to faster it'll go away quicker
i like the blackout idea, but i'm not really into the whole blurry aspects of the mod, but there are a lot of other cool changes that could be added to the use of Alcohol in the game.
most of the time i avoid using this drink in the game, it would be better to give the player some kind of benefit from using it.
i mean to take this point even further on the slight realistic route, lets say drinking more alcohol had a benefit to using it, where the beverage not only made you dumber and slower but it also made you damage resistant and stacked the more you drank, but depending on how much you drink it can also cause you to black out and possibly wake up somewhere random on the map with some of your items lost or missing as a debuff result to drinking too much.
to me that would be a more realistic route of the beverage that is typically useless, at least with this idea it's useful but has some debuff's, and the perks can actually further benefit this idea so you build up your tolerance level to the point where the blacking out aspect can no longer happen and the addiction debuff doesn't take effect anymore and then start becoming more of a benefit to you instead, however that might lock you out of some of the good things from the blacking out aspect.
i suppose blacking out could be a benefit in of itself, like say you were about to die and before that happens, you drink a few more than you should engaging the blackout mechanic only to escape the situation with no memory of how you allegedly won or escaped the fight, you still wake up without some of your items and you might be crippled or something in some random location, maybe you are next to a bed or you wake up in a bed someplace as one of the random spawning points due to blacking out, you escaped death, but you also have a lot of missing items and some other debuff's like being crippled, so there are natural consequences to drinking to much as well as a benefit to it.
maybe the blurry effect could only be introduced when you wake up with your morning after blackout effect, maybe it's not just blurriness you experience, but perhaps you hear this ring in your ear and your heart beating sound effect and you don't have to endure it for very long, maybe an in game hour or until you get your hands on a stimpack to fix the cripple issue and or perhaps sleep in the bed for another day to heal yourself.
Hi, @Ceftadzime i have edited your mod a fair bit, added in slight rad removal at different rates for different beverages, (spirits will obviously have a greater effect than beer/ales) * Have edited the first stage blur for heavy spirits so its a wee bit stronger, and left the original blur just for beers, beers also take double the amount to get a full double vision. *I have also edited the duration to have the effects last significantly longer,
i was hoping i could have your permission to upload it? I tried to message you but for some reason nexus being dumb and not allowing me. so hopefully you could get back to me?
