I'm all for creating/using any and all mods that make your game what you want it to be, but it does seem that if anything, the wasteland is already in a state of anarchy, it's not turned out so well, and the Minutemen are trying to establish something else. Anyways, happy modding!
Apocalyptic Anarchism is not at all the same as organizational anarchism, as fought for in todays society. Anarchism in todays society converted to the fallout universe would just look like pretty much what the minutemen fight for anyway, helping people from raiders who wish to impose on the individual or collective.
Skreeeboy is 100% correct and anarchists are deluded fantasists who are completely and dangerously wrong. Another point to note is that anarchism has always been a far-left movement. So try telling Abernathy that they don't own their farm because all property is tyranny! And there's no market to sell their produce at (unless you're confusing Social Anarchism with Anarcho-Capitalism) because all food is to be freely and fairly distributed. And then admit to Abernathy that you can't actually ensure such free and fair distribution in your idealistic lawless land because you'll brook no centralised governmental structures or policing etc because that's oppression, but we will instead all rely on personal freedoms and direct consensus. Oh, and importantly, no army, because armies are tools of both state and individual oppression. And then tell him that this is the best way to rescue the Commonwealth from all the Mutants and Raiders and build for a better tomorrow. And then, best of all, let the rest of us watch as he takes out his shotgun and blows your foolish heads clean off.
The Minutemen could never be anarchists, and anarchy could never rescue the Commonwealth.
This thread is pure undiluted cringe. Dude can't even google "Anarchism" or "Socialism" or "Communism" or even "Capitalism", comes in, flexes that they know nothing (weird flex), and writes 200 words going "AKSHUALLY, Mod Author wrong". It's so misinformed it wraps all the way around and becomes an amusing kind of cringe, like a cringe trainwreck you can't take your eyes off of.
@streetyson the Minutemen don't have a standing army my guy, it's one guy and a couple patrols none of whom listen to you. All of the settlements tools and other means of production are collectively owned at the workshops which can be accessed by anyone, evidenced by NPC's contributing to the stash and grabbing weapons from them whenever they feel like it. - Sure sounds a lot like anarchy
@streetyson doesn't know a thing about anarchism. What he describes is a kleptocratic, stratocratic, state capitalist dictatorship poorly disguised as anarchism.
this flags specific shade... Anarcho-Transhumanism... What the institute would be on paper without a centralized leader with as much control as the Director has.
counter point, transhumanism takes on a slightly different quality when you look at a post apocalypse society in fallout canon, namely mutants. This flag could be seen as an embrace of ghouls, supermutants, etc.
Thanks, I just do flag design and was lucky enough to find someone in a vexillology forum who knew how to mod. Serious credit to Bread Scientist. He's the brains behind it lol.
Yeah we've had a bit of a correspondence actually. Good comrade. Also I have made a few anarchist mods of my own, if you two need the assets for anything, feel free to use them. They're kind of deprecated as I've moved on to other projects (I'm all about Lenin now) but I still like anarchists, so if it's of any use to you then go for it. Would be nice to know it served someone a purpose.
Funny enough, I was an anarchist when I made this and I did no what anarchism was. I'm an ML now, but still recognize that the Minutemen had an almost completely horizontal organization and voluntary interaction.
