So this is great, but it breaks in power armor for some reason. Specifically I'm using v2. It seems to swap back and forth between the original position and the modded one with little reason as to why.
To anyone having issues with the animations in Power Armor, go into meshes -> actors and copy the character folder. Rename the copy to "PowerArmor". This fixed the Power armor anim bug for me.
Can you do something like V2's adjustments, but for other guns? Like, pistols, revolvers, ect? I'm kinda into the more centered gun cam adjustment from V2.
You can use hkxposer tool to adjust the 1st gun animations to your own taste of position, it's a simple tool. Only adjust one node for each animation file which moves the whole upper body can meet your need. I suggest doing adjustments yourself because only you know what kind of adjustment degree you need. After learning such tools you'll feel like entering the realm of freedom lol.
Why do you need a tutorial, hksposer is among the easiest tools just like bodyslide. And for V2 since the hkxposer is too simple, it adjust nodes by dragging mouse...so there's no specific slider data like things to record. I made those files just by feelings and tests...Using hkxposer is nothing but select the node and drag the mouse. You can download the tool and try it and you'll know what I mean...
You'll need the tool "BAE" to extract animation files from Fallout4 - Animations.ba2 in the "data" folder. The 1st gun animation are in the path "meshes/actors/character/_1stperson/animations" and you'll see a bunch of folders with names of gun types. For example you want to edit revolver animation, you can try the idle animation first, the name is "44Pistol/WPNIdleReady.hkx". Choose the files you want to modify and extract them into your data folder. ALWAYS make backups before extracting or editing especially when you're new to modding. Then open the hkx file with hkxposer. Then edit and save. If you want to edit a lot of gun types then there's a lot bunch of files to edit...That's one of the reasons I have no mood to edit them for you lol, please understand. Modding for myself and sharing with others is a pleasure but for others' big requests...that's just not me cause I'm a lazy guy. I can give you further guide if you need. If you think this kind of modding is too frustrating then I'll agree with you...
Tried this with my 40K weapons ... v2 as u said was the best but still leaves the weapons a bit to high but lot better then the vanilla. For the CAWL version bolters it is perfect so will recommend for those that do not like the in the face vanilla to try your animations. Hope get back to mod'n and good luck with school even
Note: In 1st person seems to kick up the size of the weapon a lot ... have to see if can remove that size increase as really balloons some weapons
Have you considered adding sounds to the reload? The default SMG reload sounds are pretty weak, and one could argue they fit on an antique Thompson that's 300 years old, but on modern weapons such as DOOM's, it seems really out of place. At the very least, do you know what the folder structure for the vanilla SMG looks like for people who would like to add in custom reload sounds?
Have you thought about doing this for the "assault rifle"? that thing is cool (im probably the only one who thinks so) but it's so damn close to the camera that it makes me feel like i'm swallowing the magazine
I have no time recently, maybe you can try it yourself using hkxposer tool to edit the animation files. hkxposer is easy to use. I may have time to do this after 2021 January if you don't want to give it a try :D I'll keep it in mind
How did you manage to get the idles to load? I can have any actual animation except for those that are just idles. Not sure what to do as the program doesn't have all that many functions
I seem to have a small problem. I have the Thompson replacer and this on at the same time. This mod seems to revert the animations that come with the Thompson replacer, and instead reverts back to the standard vanilla animations. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem or if it's just me... Some help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Never mind I fixed it! Sorry for the trouble!
