Heads up to everyone making requests! I've been sending private messages so far to iron out details, but if you want to skip that step, it's typically me asking if you'd like the retexture in a shiny finish or in a matte finish like the finish that's on my original galaxy screwdriver retex. Also need color schemes if you want a patterned retexture. Let me know which finish you're looking for, what color scheme you want for your pattern (if relevant), and I likely won't need to send a private message, which also speeds up the process of me completing your request. Everybody wins!
Either finish is equally easy to make, so please don't feel obligated to choose one over the other because it will be easier for me. They're equally easy. It's fine. No worries.
I may, at some point, upload in game examples of a texture done with a shiny finish and that same texture with a matte finish, but until then, imagine a high shine plastic for the shiny finishes. If your game is typically dark and you want the screwdriver to stand out just that little bit extra, shiny is my recommendation. If your game has typical lighting or immersive lighting mods and you want a more immersive finish, I would suggest matte.
Also, while I'm able to create most requests in a day at most, I also need time to play the game, time for myself, and the occasional mental health day to just crash. If it's the weekend, please don't take it personally if I send you a private message saying that I got your request and won't be starting it until Monday at the earliest. [Edit: I didn't think this would need to be said, but I guess I thought wrong. If I have to private message you, please don't expect me to wait around forever for you to respond. I can see in the messages when you were last active and if twenty-four hours has passed, Nexus shows you as active recently, and you haven't so much as read my message and responded with at least an acknowledgement that you read the message and will get back to me soon, I will go ahead with making your texture based on what information I have from you so far and some executive decisions on my part. Not many modders take requests, and I'm beginning to see why. I make these textures for you for free, in my spare time. Unless you send a donation my way, I don't get paid at all, and there are so many other things I could be doing in my spare time. I get that people don't live on Nexus, but this is also why I check to see if you've been active recently before going ahead with your texture. Please, if you want a retexture from me, either provide in a comment below with all the details I've asked for on the front page of the mod and this sticky or check your messages when you're on. I'm trying to respect the texture vision you have in your head. Please respect my time in return.]
And once again, huge shout out to all who endorse and all who make texture requests. Endorsements are a huge help, not only in giving the mod some visibility, but in letting modders know that what we make is legitimately being enjoyed. Texture requests give me more practice, with practice comes improvement, and I have to say these screwdriver retextures are oddly addicting, even if I sometimes need Spotify to keep me from setting my laptop on fire.
lol I love how excited the title is for a screwdriver, the image captions and description are also funny. Instant download, looks great with HD Lockpick Interface Retexture, gotta have my own personal screwdriver in blue.
I like the blue galaxy one. I use this mod with another mod which give the lock a HD texture. I just have to have this load after that one so it doesn't conflict.
The blue galaxy one is also my favorite. That's awesome to hear my mod is compatible with mods that retexture the lock itself, as this creates even more customization options. Thank you so much for sharing! :)
You know, the only reason I clicked on this mod was because I couldn't quite scroll past a screwdriver retexture labeled 'Spaaaaaace.' I stayed for the hilarious captions on your pictures, and am downloading for your sense of humor in general. XD Love it, you made me smile and laugh on a bad morning. <3
(Also, the retextures are great, and I look forward to seeing my galaxy screwdriver in game. XD)
PS. Would you be up to/mind making a rainbow retexture, or possibly one in the colors of the pan flag?
Always glad to make someone laugh on a bad morning. I'm certainly down for making a rainbow texture, but since I also have other projects in the works, I can't guarantee how soon it will be finished. Will definitely keep you updated on my progress though.
Those Doctor Who mods should change it to be the sonic, changing pitch (& length if applicable) instead of rotating.
I like seeing the Space Core get some love. I was really hoping that we would get a volume two, it's three they can't count to... and it was called Fall of the Space Core Vol I. I want cores that hover like Eyebolts/like they do in Lego Dimensions. It was the most I could do to port it to Special Edition, for personal use, would never be able to do it from scratch.
Anyway, this is sweet, I've not seen it retextured before.
Yes and no. I would have to get permission from them to use their lock texture as a base first, as the lockpick interface is technically all the pieces of the interface on one texture sheet and my mod changes the section of that sheet that deals specifically with the handle. If I have their permission, then I can provide you a file that uses their lock texture and my screwdriver handle texture. If I can't get their permission, then no, it's not possible to use someone else's lock texture with my screwdriver handle texture.
As for why Bethesda put all the pieces of the lockpick interface on one sheet, I'm sure Bethesda set it up that way to maximize load time, as it's quicker to load one sheet for the entire interface than, say, one texture for the bobby pin, one for the handle, one for the lock, and etc. It also removes the potential for only a few of the textures to load in, giving you a lockpicking interface with invisible or lower quality pieces.
I'll PM you to iron out the details. Funny you should mention camo, since I was already thinking of doing that one as a surprise retexture for my significant other if I can ever get them into Fallout 4.
Edit to add: Someone else already made an H&H Tools screwdriver retexture. Here is the link for that one: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24884

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

PS: Belated edit, ffff, cause I forgot, but Matte is fine for the texture!
