She died on me too :( She headed straight into battle and separated her self from the main group. I found her dead after the battle ended with the synths. She was a fool hardy lil milf but I was beginning to like her a lot after tweaking her already good looks! She had a good foundation to work with. I wish I had known she wasn't essential. I would have fixed that. Maybe I can resurrect her like I do to NPCs in Skyrim. :D
you want to know something sad, so after the quest with her in micky, i recruited her using amazing follower tweaks before i lost her forever. and she was my companion until i left the underground vault location then i find that i still never to be seen again in the game.
follower tweaks is supposed to fix this issue, but it seems it only works with NPC's who were meant to be followers, anyway, i'm glad to see mods like this exist. i fall under the belief that every NPC regardless should be recruitable.
so if a vanilla NPC who is a gross old lady is recruitable, it's up to the player to have the choice to make that lady into a companion, and if you want mods to make her look beautiful so she can become a gilf you can do just that with no issue, or if you hate the lady, you could recruit her and do what ever you want with her subject her as a slave in one of the raider gangs or something, it's all about player choice.
unfortunately there are some scripts and things in the game that are not allowed.
To make Darla or any other NPC essential, open the console and type "help darla 0" and there should be three entries for NPC Darla. Type "setessential [Darlacode1,2,3] 1". I don't remember which one did it for me. To make sure, click on your version of Darla in the console and type "isessential" "0" means she can die "1" means she will just go down and wait to be revived or for her limbs to heal or whatever. To get her or any other CONSOLE-MODIFIED NPC OUT OF THEIR POWER ARMOR use the command cursor and have them investigate a sitdown computer terminal or maybe even sitting them in a chair would work too, i dont use the armor that often anymore; they should exit their armor in preparation to use the specified object. Note on NPC Immortality: the idea is that you want to make the NPC's "base form" immortal so that the changes will filter down into the unique version of the NPC that exists in your character's version of the game world. I haven't tried making non-unique NPC's immortal this way (such as the Brotherhood-Scribe you need to escort in "Learning Curve" but it could also work. There is usually only one version of Brotherhood-Scribe 11 or whatever, but if their base code is different from the version in their reality a player might have to systematically eliminate each of the dozen or so Brotherhood Scribes by typing "setessential [NPCCODE] 1" and then checking the target version with "isessential" to see if they rate a "1" for essential or a "0" for notgonnaliveforever.
not sure why i can't equip her some armor or anything besides a weapon like i was able to before i re-installed her.
but a small setting essential for followers note: when using setessential (the npc code you find with the help darla 0 command will be a little different from the code when you click on the npc itself, but the similarity is in the load order number which is the first 2 numbers (i.e. 05 in the npc code 05777786 and 0577774d)) just match the load order numbers for the most part.
I used this Darla for long enough to find out she's not tagged "essential". Is it possible for you to do that with the bat.file? I think she would work good other than that. I'm using Diane and NEO at this time but am needing to stop taking NEO out on quests.
Cool, didn't know that. What is her reference ID so I can spawn her near me? Google doesn't show any results aside from "00000000". I use player.placeatme # but no dice.
edit: also after you save her i have no idea where she is in diamond city lol
the refid for the follower would vary depending on your mod load order. Just load up a save when she was with you click on her in console and then load your current save and use moveto player and if she is dead use resurrect
Just added Darla, NEO and The Alien. I'm only keeping and endorsing NEO. I'm not sure if it's because I met Darla and blew her head off with a shotgun, but she dies during every fight. I don't want to have to bat darla and re-equip her after every battle. And even when I did, she came back in parts, because a Super Mutant savaged her.
The Alien doesn't act right at all. It hangs around fights and doesn't get involved and walks weird. And people keep attacking it. Heck, the moment I picked these three up from Vault 111, NEO was attacking The Alien when I arrived.
But, I do like NEO. NEO works great and I really like the fact that he actually talks. And having that Assaultron Blast on my side really is helpful when battling the huge groups of enemies I do.NEO more than makes up for what is lacking in Darla and The Alien. I really like NEO, Fahrenheit, Shaun Creature and Diane. But Glory (Who keeps turning against me in fights and failing my Railroad quests, and also loses her coloring), Darla and The Alien need work.
Glad to hear. (The alien is no big loss for me. Somehow, it just doesn't feel natural traveling with it. Sounds weird, when I have a group full of robots and synths, but running with him kind of felt unrealistic somehow. I probably won't pick him back up even once fixed.) But, I look forward to your work on Glory and Darla. I really like your mods and would love to put Glory back on my team, especially. I wanted her to be a follower from the moment I met her, and was surprised she wasn't.
Oh, and since you're working on them, there is an issue with NEO, where he hits you with his blaster sometimes. He killed me once, the other time I was able to get away. But, he shoots at an enemy, and then it oddly will direct right at you. Other than that though, much love for NEO and thanks for these mods, in general.

help "darla" 0 (or whatever character you are trying to make essential)
then
setessential baseid 1 (baseid is the one you found with the help command)
To test:
click on them in console and Type:
kill
edit: also after you save her i have no idea where she is in diamond city lol
edit 2: Nevermind. Figured it out.
