Any way to combine the two textures, so the elevator platform looks new, and the rest looks old and worn down? The platform did get sealed behind a blast door, after all.
At the moment when the bomb exploded over Boston (you see the explosion while standing on the elevator platform), the elevator is going down and a door is closing at the top (it's going dark and you can see a hatch closing shortly, then the scene loads with that gate opening in front of you, when you reach the bottom). So the elevator platform was down and presumably under a hatch at the top of the shaft. When you escape the Vault, you get to that gate, before it opens, you see the elevator platform going down again. Well during your frozen sleep, some of the personel revolted and escaped the Vault using the elevator, as that's the only way out. Also Kellogg and co got there somehow and back to the surface with baby Shaun, so again using the elevator. It's been up and down multiple times, not just in one position the whole time. But during the initial bombfall it was going down with the Vault residents, including Nate & Nora with baby Shaun. Also when you escape the Vault, going up the elevator shaft, you see the hatch opening at the top. So it's not that the elevator platform was down the whole time making a hole at the top, or that it returned immediately to the top. It was under a hatch for some time, so kinda protected from a direct blast.
So I originally thought this elevator could literally take you to the pre war version of the world. That's not the case is it? This is only a texture replacer mod?
I actually would like to see someone do a higher res, more detailed retexture of the post-war vault elevator and cap. Sigh. I was looking for that when I came across your mod. :-) It just looks kind of bland and low res blah, but I prefer the post-war look.
