Let me know what you think. If there is interest in this, I'm willing to expand on it. Maybe new labeled containers or different styles.
Hi Hello Yes Yes Yes Yes I AM VERY VERY VERY INTERESTED!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad I found this,
I agree with the comment below regarding texture choices, ( or even mesh choices, I'm running a prewar game right now so the bluer ones work for me, tho bland and will need to be hidden ( sorry)
'd love to see more variety in the containers, besides texture choices, ie, for example, I just found a storage container that is a teddy bear lol,
hmmm some out-of-the-box suggestions, ie food containers, bread boxes, wicker baskets fish tanks, TVs; radios, toy trucks or cars for odds and ends, lol stuff that is already in the game and used for decorations but made into a container version of the item if you're not artistically inclined to create new stuff instead of boxes
I would also like to be able to have it set up to wear say you get tokens or special bottle caps design crafted n then that gives you one for each container for a per settlement location,
ie 1-10 ( number of containers n sort box, for home base or wherever n then something like 2-20 for next location ie sanctuary for example,
that way I can use this mod at more than one home base...
but if not the multi-location then I would love to see it be able to auto craft, load inventory on the person at the workshop, and the re-sorts when done :) I
know I got spoiled in Skyrim and all the wonderful mods
lol anywho.
again, I am so happy and pleased that I found this, so from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!!!! thank you, I will be tracking while using and blessed be ~ GREAT JOB!
being able to sort out junk would be AWESOME!! I have a workshop mod that lets you scrap junk. Having the "sort" box at the beginning of the settlement and then having everything else placed in more proper spots would make for dropping items off after a loot\whatever run.
Absolutely love using this mod to display my Nuka Colas and lunch boxes. Having an issue with the Options Menu from the drinks displays going to my workshop if/when I've accidentally/intentionally scrapped one of the drinks displays and not being able to take it out of the workshop for good. I try and take them out of the workshop, but it just brings up the "what should this display?" options and then no matter what I select, it goes right back to the workshop. Is there ANY way of getting them out of there? Preferably withoutuninstalling the mod and reinstalling it?
Would be great if there was an optional texture back where there are no labels, or the labels are in a diff font/look worn, along with the container looking worn instead of red & clean. If I get around to it, I might make it myself ;D
Also would like to see a simple tutorial on how to like, re-create your own sorting script/edit the ones in this to you can add your own sorting for stuff. (Not implying/asking for the ability to make my own mod, just an edit of this one.)
Textures comes in a loose file so you can edit the .DDS textures files using Gimp. Gimp: https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ I do agree, this should have provided us with a worn out rustic look for more of a realistic enviromental feel.
I haven't played with the shelving yet, but the box set was exactly what I was looking for. So far, just about anything I drop into the sort box gets sorted into the correct box or the workshop. It's worth having a separate box or two for things that you don't want to carry but also don't want put into the workshop. A handful of oddball mod items did get left in the sort box, but that's fine for my purposes. I'll be using these for long term storage so I stashed them in a back room in Sanctuary. The only quibble I have is the font on the box so if any texture artist out there has some spare time, I think a retexture could really help make this a much more popular mod. It certainly fills a blank spot in my load order.
I love this mod...there is a similar sorting system in the Better homes series, which is so awesome, been looking for this particular mod for other settlements and could not find one...then I find this one. Is there a way to have drinks go into a fridge that will make them cold, like in the Better homes? That sorting box at the doorway sorts drinks to fridge, bobbleheads to bobblehead stand, armor to armorworkbench and so on...and they are all connected and only items that can't sort are left in the sort box. FINALLY, someone has made this and now I can do this and would love to see it expand to sorting more items and more containers like legandary items and ammo...maybe some ammo boxes for each type of ammo? THANKS FOR THIS.. YEAH!
Suggestion for display racks. Book Ends for Overdue Books/Burnt Books/Burnt Textbooks/Ruined Books/Ruined History Books. I am suggesting bookends as it would allow us to stick them on any sort of shelf in the game for decoration.
Something I never understood is why nobody ever did a box/sphere shaped container with a transparent texture. This way, we would have an invisible container that with the help of Place Everywhere we could turn almost any item into a container, by simply putting the invisible container over it. If there is fear of losing where it is, the "Only Visible When in Workshop Mode" feature that some mods use could help with that.
It may even have a few different shapes and sizes to fit in different types of places and objects. Imagine being able to have almost anything as a container. I wonder if it would be too difficult to do it...

I'm also all in with what you are proposing. :)

placed a red boc named SORT
placed 2 other boxes: 1:Chems, 2:Ingredients...
transfered Abraxo + bottles (empties) nothing shows up in the red respectively marked containers Ingredients, Chems...
is there a magic button somewhere?
For the booze racks, allow us to put empty bottles on them.

Will now, for sure, be a staple part of my load order.
Thank you kindly for bringing us this mod.
[EDIT] I have noticed that Stimpacks and Radaway are not auto sorting?
