You can get it from the archive, but read the update on the description -> the mod is obsolete and no longer needed. Valve fixed the underlying SteamVR issue a while ago.
There's nothing in the Archive screen to click to download this from Nexus. Found it on GitHub though. Also, am posting this because Steam's latest update seems to have screwed up their bindings fix, at least for me.
@SpiderJerusalem You're not alone. A person on Steam and myself both have Vive Pro 2 with Index controllers and fholger's Vive Controller Hack is still needed to get the joysticks to work. The thinking is it's something to do with using Vive Pro 2 hmd with the index controllers is why. Place the file, openvr_api.dll, in your Fallout 4 VR game folder (replace file there if asked). You just need to use CABAListic's bindings found in: Steam VR > Settings > Controllers > Manage Controller Bindings > Select Fallout 4 VR from the list > Custom > Choose Another > "Index as touch w. custom openvr dll" by CABAListic (Gingas bindings seemed broken).
Thank you so much. It is absolutely mind boggling that even Bethesda, low as their standards are, released the game like this. It is somehow worse than Vanilla Skyrim VR.
Having the same issue with both OG Vive and Vive Pro, this fix is required to use any community bindings that use the "Emulate Oculus Touch controller" option (such as Gingas)
Valve's fix doesn't seem to work. I told Steam to present my Index controllers at Touch controllers, and Fallout 4 VR did not recognize the joysticks. I installed this DLL, and Fallout 4 recognized the joysticks.
I'm still having issues unfortunately. Same setup, Vive pro 2 headset with Index controllers. After adding the .dll in my game directory and selecting the custom control preset the joysticks still aren't registering in game. They work on the loading screens though which is odd.
https://github.com/fholger/f4ovr_improvements/releases despite mine working correctly before for a year, now suddenly it doesnt so i need this again wich fixes it,its on github get the 1.1 only controller fix and use his vrperfkit for FSR works well together
If only that were true. For many the Steam VR Index settings for this title simply don't function. I can't even begin a new game because there is no way to press certain buttons as they are not mapped correctly. Totally vanilla unmodded FO4VR to start with, and just the default Index bindings in Steam VR that should 'fix' this issue. Absolutely does not function for me or many others.
I don't think this mod is obsolete entirely. Using the Bigscreen Beyond, SteamVR emulation of Oculus controllers no longer works as it does with an Index HMD. I'm using the version from github and it works unlike the steam binding menu.
My G2 just arrived a few days ago. Since then i am trying to get the G2 Controller mapping right for Fo4vr ... no luck so far :( current Issue is that i cannot open the workbench to build things.... thx in advance!
