Im not sure if you'll ever make it compatible with modded PAs like NAVI, i install the AI chip and it works fine, but as soon as i hover over the PA's side of the trade menu it crashes. Dunno if anyone here has found a fix for that or if ill just have to deal with it. perhaps I'll just look up how to make the armor essential.
edit: for NAVI it appears the problem lies in the hoodie accesorry for the chest, so as long as its not equipped, you're good
Excellent mod, good improvements over original. Only one gripe and a minor critique.
The sentry bot sound that is continuous was driving me nuts after a while, especially indoors with sound mods would make it very loud and reverberate all over the place. I had to edit the plugin and remove it. (Non-Player Character (Actor) / CSCR - Inherits Sounds From / removed "AudoTemplateSentryBot")
Only wish Power Armor AI's would arm themselves when I do like other companions. If anybody knows how to enable that, please let me know.
Other than that, this along with "Restore Power Armor Frames" very much satisfies my mechanic support roleplay with AI Power Armors that I can constantly repair and send back into battle. Thank you.
I dont know what you did, but my PA is the BEST COMPANION I EVER HAD, doesn't bug me with stupid comments, doesn't get in my way when im aiming, walks around me, not behind me, if i ask it to stay and anything comes around it still fights, doesn't stand just looking like Danse or other companions, it fights! and then goes back to the place i told it to stay so it works like an excelent centinel guard, thanks!
For the benefit of anyone who is wanting to set their Power Armor NPC's as 'Essential', here are the steps I recommend:
Open the mod PowerArmorAutopilot.esp with FO4Edit, locate the Non-Player Character (Actor) branch in the left hand pane, and expand it out by clicking on the plus [+] symbol.
Next, select the CompanionAI record in the left hand pane, and scroll down in the right hand pane till you see a section called ACBS - Configuration. Double click on the Flags field to open a drop down menu.
Now, tick/enable Essential to set that character flag on for that NPC. Kindly double check your work, save your changes, and exit the editor.
Doing that change should now prevent your Power Armor NPC's from being killed in game. Note: the 'Essential' flag may not work retroactively, but it would be applied to any new Power Armor NPC's you create going forward.
For your existing Power Armor NPC's, try setting their essential flag to 'on' (aka setessential NPC_base_ID 1), via the in-game console. See the discussion HERE for further details.
A word of advice: Try not to 'piss off' your Power Armor companion. Having a well armored, well equipped NPC that cannot be killed, and actively chasing you around the map eventually gets tiresome. The only way I found to really stop them when that happens, is via the console. Just my $0.02 worth...
Hello! Tnks but I have a question... I follow the step by step that you gave and all my PAAI still gets killed,do they only become essential in a new save? Tnks in advance!
I love this Mod and the fixes, thank you. I was thinking, is there any way to get this Mod to be able to work with Elite - Halo Power Armor Frame and Delta - Gear of War armor and weapons? They use ring slots to allow for the player to use those armors and not just get a blank frame, is it possible to integrate them? Maybe allow for the ring to be assigned to a slot? Because I would love to have an 8ft Shang'heli follower all day. Just need the Wort Wort and it'll be perfection. Thanks again

Edit: Confirmed on page 2 by the Author.
I've edited the esp to make the armor unbreakable, but my AI keeps getting killed.
