I am so glad you decided to upload this mod! It is something that I really wanted to stop myself getting blown up constantly in survival/permadeath, mainly because I play in VR and the controls don't really respond fast enough to be able to run away or back off when you hear a mine starting to beep. I have had a look at this version and the other two versions in xEdit and at the files included. The main difference between version 1.0 and 1.1/1.2 is that the later versions have an MCM menu entry which allows you to enable/disable the beep sound, enable/disable detecting your own mines, whether the detectors require fusion cells to work and if so how long they last. Version 1.2 also seems to provide both the DLC and non-DLC version in the same download.
So if you are happy with the default settings then this version is fine - it provides two different detectors, a simple one which is worn on your belt and doesn't take an armour slot, and the advanced one which is attached to your right arm in place of an armour slot. They can both be upgraded in terms of range 5m, 10m and 20m - the more advanced one also lights up mines in red and can be further upgraded to detect traps. This version is the DLC version - so if you don't have the DLC you will need to download one of the non-DLC versions from the original authors mod page: storage.icestormng-mods.de.
I was initially a bit concerned that this would be a little OP in the early game but it turns out you need the Scientist Perks 1-4 to make the simple/advanced version with upgrades and the material requirements are not readily available. I would have preferred that the detector was a hand held detector which you had to equip instead of a weapon - then you would have to decide whether you wanted to scan for mines or be armed and ready for combat. If I can work out a way to do that I will contact the original mod author and see if he will give me permission to upload a weapon version of the mod...
Wonder what happened to IceStormNG? I just downloaded this mod in September. The last version was 1.2. Not sure what the difference between 1.0 and 1.2 is. Just goes to show - if you see a mod that you --MIGHT-- use later, better download it now!
The crazy thing is that it goes off sometimes, and there's not a mine or trap to be found. But then if you ~tcl, it's usually a mine that fell THROUGH the ground and is below it.
The monkey traps still trigger it even after you knock their heads off. And it takes the ring spot, even though it's worn on the right arm.
I tried the team ~tcl, there is nothing there. the signal works only on those mines that are installed according to the game scenario. I picked up one mine, destroyed the second mine, but there’s still a signal. with the mines that I installed and then picked up or destroyed everything works correctly.
Wish we had a modder who could continue work on this. There has to be some way to use FO4EDIT to change which body slot it uses. As for traps...I don't know if the modding community has set a specific designation to show that something is a trap. That's about all I can suggest. I still think this should be an armor upgrade for power armor and regular armor.
I know this reply is preeeeety late in the coming, but you can edit the slot the items use in Fo4edit by opening the esp, then going to the 'armor' category and expanding it, clicking on one of the items, then scrolling down to find the entry that is labeled 'BOD2 - Biped Body Template' and changing the item there. Default appears to be Slot 58.
I'm not certain though if you also need to change the items that are listed under 'Armor addon' (above the Armor category in Fo4edit), as they also show a 'BOD2 - Biped Body Template' showing slow 58 as well.
While you've got FO4Edit open to change the body slot, if you don't like the huge high-tech mine detector on your right arm, you can swap the .nif files for the simple detector. Then you have all the features of the high tech version but the small beeper-sized model of the simple one.
Hey. Thanks so much for this wonderful mod. I really liked it, simple mine detector is perfect for my character’s equipment, but there are a number of comments. this is only my subjective opinion and I'm not trying to impose it on the author, it would be great if you listen to my opinion and correct the mod. The high-tech mine detector has a too bright display, it is a little annoying, it is advisable to fix it.
The following situation makes the mod practically useless: for some reason, I have a signal in the place where the mine was, even if I took it or destroyed it. this applies to mines created by the game. the signal of the mine I set after I take or destroy it disappears, as it should be. I noticed this at the far harbor gate and near the police station in Natick Banks, where the mines install the game script. if you have any thoughts on this, please help. Added images just in case. Sorry for my English, this is a Google translation.
Thank you for the pictures. I did not create this mod. I just brought it back to Nexus because I could not find it here anymore. The original author is not available.
I have encountered the same problem with mines. Putting this mod lower in my load order helped greatly.
I also agree that it is very bright and it is my great hope that some modder will make this an armour attachment instead of having to lose armour on the left arm.
Your English translation was excellent. Do not worry.
Mine and Trap Detector - created by IceStormNG Sept 2018
Don’t you just hate it when you’re walking along a path and suddenly die because of a random mine? Or when you find yourself in a sticky situation because a trap wait waiting for you just around the corner. If you’re sick of these all-too-familiar scenarios, this Fallout 4 mod adds a mine and trap detector. As the name implies, you’ll be alerted if there are any mines or traps laying around. This Fallout 4 mod comes with two variants:
- A simple mine detector which beeps faster when you get closer to a mine. - A High-tech Mine detector. This one beeps too. It also highlights mines in detection range red. This one can be upgraded to also detect various traps like tripwires.
Thank you, Thorne67 where ever you are.

So should I make this a private for me only download? I didn't understand. I'm almost 100 now. 5 more years but the grandkids n great ones love me tons cause I do my best to mod their games and play with them.
Hey, wish you all that you wish for, above all health. I'm just have been happy you uploaded this 'lost' mod and searched for 'lost description'. Sometimes I wonder why some mods are simply not available anymore for some reason. Sometimes I don't wonder about anything anymore, since I have played a game called Drakan a long time ago. It's not on me to have to say what you should do.

All his mods are there. I highly recommend the MW Sentry Turret. Found it using this site that lists where authors went after the big Nexus ultimatum.
