how do you make a non-replacement version? what file controls the adding of more eye textures in looks menu? I am a rookie to the files that change things, other than textures.
i don't know how to do this without an esp, but you can go into fo4edit, load up only the anime race, go to head parts, then right click and add head part. you can see in this section all the different things hiyokomo put into the different sections, like how you bring up the eyes section and it has all those rows of ========? that's where all that is. i don't really know how to make each of these textures a hex value you can add to the original mod otherwise tho
ok i've p much got this figured out. i'll include some reference photos links at the end, i figure it's prolly not a good idea to post four huge images in the thread. as always, make backups of all files you're messing with, in this case even the animerace file itself.
basically, the first step is to name your texture file to something else, like cateyes_Blue2.dds or whatever. once you've done that, move it to the eye texture folder for the nanarace. then, open fo4edit, right click and select none, then only click on animerace_nanako or whatever it's called in that list. then scroll down to texture sets. right click on "texture set", click add, and then it's gonna ask you for a hex value to assign. it doesn't matter, use whatever it automatically generates with. now, the easiest thing to do is click on the normal eye color in that list. hold ctrl, and click on the new value you just created. now right click on either of the highlighted values, and click "compare selected (2)" which should be at the top of the right click menu. you should be able to click on the values for the normal eye color and drag it over to your new, empty slot. if it won't let you, right click on the spot and if it says "add", click add, then try to drag it over. it should copy. where it says "TX000 - Diffuse" under "Textures RGB/A", this should be the file name for your texture. so in my example, as you can see, i put "nanarace\eyes\cateyes_Blue2.dds".
now you go up to the head part section. add a new head part the same way you did texture. now compare your new, empty head part to the same color, exactly like you did with the texture. essentially, you're doing all the same stuff. copying over information, adding sections where you can't copy so it lets you copy. the pictures will explain better than i can, honestly, i'm not the most.. well-spoken gal around. once you got all that done, just click the three lines in the top left and save. this will overwrite your animerace file, so again make a backup.
so as you can see in my examples below, i goofed up a lil, but the effects are much the same. in the head part, where it says "FULL - NAME", i forgot to specify "cat" in there. and as you can see, by selecting the default hex value it suggests, it puts it way way up there in the list. buuuuut.. it works. so here's where i'm stuck. i don't really know how to make this into an esp file that users can simply download and not worry about. that's something i'll look into another day. hope all this made any sort of sense and helped, sorry if it didn't and wasn't as clear as it could be. also, huge thank you for your really great looking textures, and i'm looking forward to seeing what else you release!

Your a genius! I went on youtube watched a tutorial and made a Standalone version! It's going to take some work to do all the eyes and packs I've made so far, but I got it to work. Thank you very much!
I'm going to look into that. I want to make face overlays, but it doesn't work the traditional way. Plus, the way the skin tint works, I'm not a fan. Great mod, though. The AnimeRace, that is.
Give me about a week, let me experiment. But sure, I'm not even close to being done making eye packs. Though, I might make them All in one packs. Which will take longer to make.
I was thinking about making the following types: Star Synth Mystic
I'm tinkering on how to make them glow too. I have made slight head way in that front.
