    2024 UPDATE
File naming error pointed out by the community (thank you Malicious) which was causing the CTD for the Compatibility Edition has been fixed. I could never work it out and gave up on it. New files uploaded, hopefully it's not a problem! I'm putting some time with a fresh run of the game, will test and hopefully it's all good!

IF you are all lucky, I may consider continuing with the project depending if I can muster the energy to get into it. The Dug Out Inn is looking a little bland in there isn't it?

    Thank you!

MEGA UPDATE! YOU ALL ASKED AND NOW IT'S HERE!

I have just put the final touches on a rebuild of the back "The Wall" area which now moves Abbott's shed and the pile of junk out of the way. This was done to enable compatibility with other major mods. This will be an optional file, depending on if you use the mods (DCExpanded/SimSettlements2). The Brahmin shed and Outhouse remain, as I'm certain they are not in the way. They also blend the back wall a bit more and give some visual interest against the length of the wall.

Thank you to the community who encouraged me to continue with this mod! Stay tuned as I have many more ideas to come which will accompany this mod, but be separate mods. Finally I can now say this mod is polished and finished!

    Jim

    Hi Team!

It's been a long time and I do apologise. I haven't really been into FO4 for a while but I upgraded my PC significantly recently and I'm in love with it again.

OK, down to the nitty gritty. I think I might revisit this mod and make some significant changes. After seeing a lot of the feedback I think it's time to remove the back shed and brahmin paddock as an optional file. As much as it pains me because I loved the creative freedom on those relatively unvisited parts of DC.

    UPDATE!

I have uploaded an update today (3/9/21) that fixes quite a few things!

    - Finally fixed all the flashing assets out by The Wall and the Outfield. I had incorrectly rebuilt the precombines and vis data. I revisited a tutorial for this and gave it another go, I'm certain I nailed it this time. I tested it in game and she's all gravy.
*If you use Eli's RV Trailer home in the Outfield, you will need to put my mod above it, otherwise a few shrubs will be present in the stairs. Nothing serious, just looks unkept.
    - Fixed the rear most flashing disco texture table at Power Noodles.
    - Fixed the crazy flashing posters and picture frame inside the Super Salon.

As I mentioned before, I do realise there's some compatibility with other major mods, I will be looking at adding an extra optional file which removes the changes at The Wall and Outfield cells. Sit tight and I'll try have them out as soon as possible. Stay safe everyone!

So I was using the compatability edition w/o any other DC mods and each attempt to go in to the city caused a CTD. I tried a few times before disabling it in Vortex - once I disabled it I could enter the city fine.

I had hoped to see the changes w/o adding other DC altering mods first. Is this a issue with the compatability version to just crash the game?

The archives in the compatibility edition are named incorrectly. There are files in the archives that this mod depends on and since they are named incorrectly the game does not load them. You can easily fix it by changing the name of the "DCVOCompatibilityEdition1.BA2" file to "DCVendorOverhaulAIO - Main.BA2" and the "DCVOCompatibilityEdition2.BA2" file to "DCVendorOverhaulAIO - Textures.BA2" That fixed the issue for me and works fine now.

This fix worked for me, thanks! But it's not entirely playable yet. There seems to be some collision missing, or meshes missing? I keep walking through/sinking through elevated platforms and stairs, like they don't exist at all. What could be the issue?

Didn't realise my mod had so much traction in my absence!

Thank you so much Malicious for pointing that out, I stopped playing for a while and just gave up trying to fix the Compatibility edition. I feel bad I left it broken for so long. The mod needs a bit of a brush up, but hopefully the f***-up of mine that you found fixes it for everyone.

I probably need someone to go over the mod in the CK and fix the previs and precombines and a few other things. That's where I had the most trouble getting the mod to work. Originally I had problems with flickering assets in the Outfield, I fixed them in my latest version but it was causing CTD's for many but I couldn't replicate the results on my end. At that point it was too overwhelming and I gave up.
Obviously with the release of the TV series, everyone is sliding back into it, and here I am!

There won't be any major changes to the mod (I don't even know if I have the CK still installed!) but if I can get it to a point it's stable, I'm happy to close the chapter on this mod. I had intentions of doing the Bobrovs' bar, I started but had a bit of "writers block" so to speak. I may press on, may not.

For the meantime, I have fixed the naming on the files and re-uploaded. Again, Malicious, thank you for finding the problems!

This is a very well-done mod that adds lots of detail, personality, and colour to the various shops in DC! The little notes in places like the fusion core box and Abbot's shed are funny and a nice touch too.

There was initially some clipping / flickering, but since it makes mostly cosmetic changes and is confined to just one part the worldspace I figured it would be fine to put it all the way at the bottom of my load order (including after PRP). Everything's working great for now! :)

ETA: Some feedback -- might it be possible to have the items either set as static or marked as ignored by NPCs, please? I travel with Dogmeat and keep getting the "Dogmeat found something" notification every time we're in the market (much more frequently than it usually appears).

Sometimes he only grabs an item like a hat (which messes up your hard work, but is otherwise pretty innocuous), and other times he somehow manages to grab a placed weapon belonging to Arturo and then the entire market turns hostile and starts blasting at us :') I spend quite a lot of time running around DC so I've been reloading saves every time this happens, oops. I think I'll have no choice but to install the Dogmeat Found Nothing mod for now because I enjoy DC Vendor Shops Overhauled too much to give it up!

Your mod is amazing but in the current state i simply cannot use it with Diamond City Expansion. The main version of your mod runs very well but there are some clipping, misplaced objects in the market area, and the Red Seat District is blocked by a huge pile of trash. The ´compatibility` version simply causes CTD when entering Diamond City. So, for now i have to uninstall your mod until this issues are resolved. Thank you for your hard work anyway!

Did you try putting the DCE in the bottom of your load order?

Yes i did, but it didn´t make any difference, actually i´ve always put DCE at the very bottom of my load order just in case to avoid any compatibility issues, but in this case it didn´t prevent the clipping and the Red Seat District being blocked. I also tried the compatibilty version but that version is even worse, it crashes the game while entering Diamond City.

Unfortunate to hear.  I also use DCE on all of my play throughs so a hard non-compatibility issue is a solid No-Go for me.  A shame really as the mod looks amazing.

That's odd. I don't have any issues running DC Vendor Overhaul with Diamond City Expansion. I'm running my DC mods in this order:
Aloot's Home Plate, DC Vendor Overhaul, A Diamond City Story, Diamond City Expansion.

The only clipping I have is the staircase between Myrna's and Home Plate clips into an empty protectron pod. The pod can be removed by using console and typing "disable" followed by "markfordelete." I don't have any trash at all in front of the Red Seat District.

I have a LOT going on in DC, including Diamond City Expansion, and this works perfectly in the mix.  It didn't require new previs and it does not disable pre-culling.
    Thank You.  Everything looks great.

    Help requested.

Both Power Noodles and Abbot's shed are sitting inside the original noodles stand and playground. But when I put this mod on the bottom of my load order, the game crashes when I try to enter DC. Really like this mod but the clipping buildings keep bugging me.

Any chance for a version without Power Noodles?

It always seems to be most troublesome. Conflicts with DC Expansion it seems.

Having one issue with the mod. Regardless of load order, the old counter in Arturo's shop is present and clipping through your new door and wall. Happy to report that I'm using this mod with many Diamond City mods, and I'm not getting any flickering textures or CTDs with this at the beginning or end of my load order.

    Load Order:
    1. Diamond City Outskirts (The Hole REDUX)
    2. DC Vendor Shops Overhauled
    3. Diamond City Interiors Redone
    4. The Bleachers - A Diamond City Story
    5. Diamond City Expansion

All of these mods are playing nice together with the exception of a few objects clipping into each other.

I am getting a CTD when fast traveling to Diamond City using only the Compatibility version of this mod. I have no other mods running. I can fast travel when I have this mod and Diamond City Expansion loaded, but not on it's own.  Is there a dependency that is hidden?  MO2 doesn't show anything, but it's odd that it crashes when loaded all by itself.

When I do use this mod with DC Expansion - I am getting a lot of flashing and disappearing objects, notably the stairs at the very entrance of DC and the playground equipment (but hey, I can get to the strip club!).  This happens with both the compatibility version and the main version.

I also get the flashing and disappearing textures using this and The bleachers (in the back by the playground, mostly it's some of the flooring that disappears.)

Also, as Reaper0666 says, when loaded with The Bleachers or even with just DC Expansion, the playground is visible through your shack.

I also note that you took down most of the individual shops. (EDIT:  Sorry, I see they are still available in the Archives section.) Any chance we could get the stand alone Arturo's gunshop with the fixes to the detective agency made available?  I was able to remove the door object blocking the Detective Agency entrance, but I can't figure out how to remove the cinder blocks in FO4Edit.  I guess I'll just disable them in game.

Regardless of all this, much appreciation for the work. It really does make Diamond City a more complete experience.  Thank you.

I have no idea what's going on. Everything is fine for me down the back, but the main stairs on the way in to DC have wigged out for some reason?

All I did was load up the stable working version of the AIO and literally move the shed and things across to the corner. I then generated the precombines for each cell I edited (only touched 2), did the vis data then ran the previs and it should have been done. I have no idea what I am missing here?

Same here. The standard version has just a little bit of flickering: on a table at the noodle stand and on a poster at the barbershop, plus the usual 'small' incompatibility with DC Expanded, which results in the Red Light District getting blocked off by a pile of ground and trash.
But the Compatability version causes CTD whenever I enter DC, both with or without Fast Travel.

For some reason, the new vendors furniture appears on top of the vanilla furniture, so I have this weird look of the mod and vanilla shop appearing at the same time.

Edit: I'm using compatibility version and Diamond City Expansion (along with Tales from the commonwealth, don't know if that factors in) in the supposed correct order (Tales from the Commonwealth  first, then your mod, and then DC Expansion at the bottom)

Just a quick one, I was trying to  use the compatible version of the AIO and found it doesn't play nice with The Bleachers A Diamond City Story mod. If the AIO overhaul is put after the bleachers, the game will always crash upon entering DC.

If the AIO overhaul is put before the bleachers in teh load order, it works fine, but the playground and the shed in outfield are trying to share the same spot. Also the original counter for Arturo's shop reappears in front of the door.

Using the non compatible version of the AIO works perfectly fine with no issues.
