Although I have returned late, I'm grateful that many others still appear to enjoy this mod.
I apologize for the green eyes as it appears to not be as favored as I once thought it would be. I initially intended to make Nick's eyes look unique and different compared to the other existing popular Nick Valentine Eye Mods; with that, I've noticed that Green didn't appear to be that common, and it seemed to match better with the yellow synth skin than blue (well that's just my opinion).
Anyway, thanks everyone and thank you @drolhcet for bringing up how to change the eye color manually. I'll try to upload the default yellow eye version when I get back to using Creation Kit
For those wanting Custom eyes... find "Gen2Eyes.BGSM" get a materials editor here "https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3635"
Copy and rename to Gen2EyesNick.BGSM
Now edit the material file "2nd tab" and add Nick to the 4 texture files:
J'adore ce mod, mais je ne suis pas fan des yeux verts. J'ai rajouté Nick aux fichiers textures, mais cela ne change rien car le mod de texture que j'utilise pour les yeux de Valentine, n'a pas de dossier Matérials.
I'm not sure if my google translate worked correctly, but if the texture mod you want to use alongside my mod doesn't have a materials folder, you can try to re-assign the textures of the Gen2EyesNick.bgsm to the texture files of where your custom Nick eyes mod are from.
Still works properly as of today. Installed with NMM. The issue with Nick's invisible hands is easily fixed by trading him another Faded Trench Coat (quest reward from "Unlikely Valentine") and let him wear this one - voila, hands are there. Finally a Nick that looks much nicer but is still Nick. Endorsed!
I know its a two year late reply, but Nick won't lose his hands with my mod, I was referring to an older mod in the description which tried to do the same thing. His default coat won't cause the no hands issue since I removed the addon on his unique coat which adds the unique hands
Thanks, I replaced textures but green-glow (and green eyes) remained... I was rather confused until I saw your comment and replaced BGSM file (*under /materials). Now it works like a charm (not that I dislike green eyes, but in this case blue are more esthetic imo)
btw I used this mod for blue eyes textures/glow, now they are neon-blue: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4540
I had this problem and fixed it by going into plugins and sorting by load order, finding Gen 2 Nick Valentine.esp then you click on the paintbrush icon under dependencies and drag it all the way to the bottom plugin and have gen 2 nick load after click add and then close. Then at the top in orange click sort now. Gen 2 nick should be the last in the load order now. It worked for me, maybe there is an easier way idk.
But Nick's skin is Gen 2... its got damn near a century of wear and time added to it, but with the exception of his prototype brain he's mostly Gen 2 parts.
So like, he's finally got his hands on proper replacement parts. That would make an interesting quest actually.
Hanna's not the only one wishing it were immersive, but I can forgive it. My main OC doesn't even see Nick very often, so he could've got the replacements installed while she was away.
@HannaVictoria If SoleSurvivor can make weapons and armors and even entire settlements from tin cans and other random crap, why can't Nick at least maintain his own face skin properly? We see he is repairing his arms all the time. He's probably much better engineer than some soldier/lawyer, he's a robot and he also said worked in DC as a handyman. He also had 100 years to learn how to fix his face ffs.
I guess Nick needs a basketball for plastic (or something for leather, a baseball glove), some oil and a few screws. Aluminum perhaps, or steel. And of course- adhesive :D
Well this is just my head canon I suppose, but: I assume he's like that half deliberately, he says with his *everything* he's been done caring what other think for 90+ years & thoroughly embraces being mechanical, something the holes make all the more apparent. I'm not saying he damaged his own skin, hell no. But if he can preserve what he has, he might have been ascetically strategic whenever he had to ration whatever he was using.
But its just as likely that he can't make more of his skin. I've seen no synthetic material in all of fallout that can communicate all human expressions the way whatever his face is made from. I get the feeling its Institute tech he isn't able to replicate.
He's probably got 'replacements' made of whatever he could manage for the whole "holding the shape of a human torso" thing & patch whatever holes there as he can cause random dents in under a shirt? That actually could be kind of scary simply cause your brain would see a human missing parts where they are very bad to be missed. :(
As for the arm? I figure by how much he has to tinker with them he needs access to them so often he's given up trying to cover them period. Also joints are tricky and he gets the idea of a human hand across fine with the bare metal.
For people who want blue eyes for Nick, it's actually rather easy - just follow @drolhcet instructions, replace files 4 .dds files in Textures\Actors\Synths and 1 .bgsm file in Materials\Actors\Synths.
I suggest you replace them with files from this mod, just rename them accordingly: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4540
If I remove all the eye files, will that revert Nice's eyes to vanilla, or will he just have no eyes? I'm not fond of the neon green eyes, but the rest is what I was after. :'C
EDIT: I read the other posts some and I do hope you can release a new version with no eye changes. I have the mod tracked and hopefully will know if it does happen, and thank you for not abandoning the mod! ;w;
I really like your mod! It gives Nick an upgraded yet still vanilla look. Will you be releasing a part to keep his eyes' yellow glow? Still, amazing work, Thank you for the mod!
Could you do a blue eyes version? I love the idea of Nick having his eyes change from the standard yellow, like he discovered his humanity after becoming free of the institute.

Now edit the material file "2nd tab" and add Nick to the 4 texture files:
Actors/Synths/Gen2Eyes_d.dds -> Actors/Synths/Gen2EyesNick_d.dds
Actors/Synths/Gen2Eyes_n.dds -> Actors/Synths/Gen2EyesNick_n.dds
Actors/Synths/Gen2Eyes_s.dds -> Actors/Synths/Gen2EyesNick_s.dds
Actors/Synths/Gen2Eyes_g.dds -> Actors/Synths/Gen2EyesNick_g.dds
Save file all done.
Now you can swap out Data\Textures\Actors\Synths\Gen2EyesNick_*.dds to what ever you want without having the PERMA GREEN GLOW!

A good (as is possible) Institute Director or the Railroad giving Nick and his brother a tune up and a new set of plating would be awesome.
But I'll see what i can do, its been a while since I modded Fallout 4 again
