About this mod

Respawn in style - drop down from the skies in an ODST style drop pod. +other little features that can be found in the holotape. Enjoy!

Permissions and credits
Welcome to ODST Drop Pod Respawn.

If all you came for was an ODST style respawn system, then you came to the right place. If you came for more then that, then maybe you also came to the right place. You can read about the mod's extra features below.

Extra Features

Killfeed

The killfeed is a simple beast that describes who killed what:

When the player kills someone, this interaction is displayed in a unique way:

Killstreaks are also displayed in the killfeed.

Keep note that only human NPCs get usernames. The rest of the NPCs in the wasteland are referred to as "NPC" by the killfeed.

Uh oh guys! BathroomDarkToilet373 is on a roll!

Killstreak Announcements

Something extra cool in this mod is that I added in the killstreak announcer from Unreal Tournament with my own special twist (mostly so I'm not blatantly stealing the audio). Get enough kill streaks to notice my edits.

3 Killstreak - Multi Kill
5 Killstreak - Ultra Kill
7 Killstreak - Mega Kill
10 Killstreak - M M M Monster Kill
15 Killstreak - Massacre
20 Killstreak - Killing Machine
30 Killstreak - Unstoppable
40 Killstreak - G G G Godlike!

When you reach a killstreak number, you will get a notification in your killfeed (example: [You: 5 Killstreak]) as well as hear an audible killstreak announcement from the male Unreal Tournament announcer.

Also, NPCs can get killstreaks. Sometimes you will see their killstreak notifications in the killfeed.

Respawn System

With Player Respawn active, instead of dying, the player will go unconscious. When the player is knocked unconscious, a Life Report will pop up displaying  how many kills you got that life, what your session KDR is, and what your career KDR is.

After clicking OK, you will wake up in a drop pod and be dropped back down to the ground.

Damage Settings

Realistic Damage:

Enabling the realistic damage setting allows the player and NPCs to be killed much more easily. Unfortunately in a realistic environment, armors made out of mostly car aluminum and broken ceramic would not stop most bullets, nor lessen their impact by any kind of marginal degree.

Damage multiplied by 3 for all NPCs and the player.

Essential Kill:

Enabling essential kill makes essential, protected, and ghosted NPCs killable.

Bleed and Flinch:

Enabling bleed and flinch allows the player and NPCs to experience bleed damage over time that will last until a Stimpak is used. The player and NPCs will also flinch when hit. Not all damage in the game will inflict flinch and bleed. Only weapons which could cause these damages realistically in the game do so.

Keep note that when the player starts bleeding, a special screen effect will occur. This effect will only occur one time until the player Stimpaks, even though bleeding stacks.

Bleeding causes damage over time until the affected actor uses a Stimpak. Bleeding stacks. Bleeding causes 6 damage per second and is affected by damage resistance. Only ballistics, plasma, misc explosives, grenades, and mines cause flinch and bleeding damage over time. Laser weapons do not, and only cause flinch instead.

Warnings

IMPORTANT: if you do not receive the FO4M holotape automatically, you can craft it at a Chem station under Utillity.

Uninstallation
: Do NOT uninstall this mod without deactivating the respawn system first from the holotape menu. If you don't deactivate it first, your character will be stuck as essential until you reinstall the mod, activate it from the holotape, and then deactivate it. Deactivating the respawn system removes the player's essential flag.
