How much does this lower your performance, a couple FPS (if that)? No idea why people are so concerned about it. The game came out 9 years ago... If you have a semi decent rig, there is no possible way you would even notice any performance loss.
What? That doesn't make sense, you can have a NASA grade computer and still have horrible FPS if the precombines are broken, why do you think the system exists in the first place?
This mod was released in 2019. I was using a 1080 at the time, which came out in 2017 I believe... I built the mod and tested/played with it back then. A 1080 in 2019 was a generation behind and I had that same 1080 until early last year.
I have never experienced a single issue with FPS due to breaking "previs" then or now (I am currently using a 3080)... I am gonna guess the OP won't be able to tell you in detail where it was broken exactly. Because I did not delete vanilla assets/references, nor move vanilla positions that I am aware of.
I would normally just delete the OP's comment, because there is no detail and it is the first complaint about it in 5 years... I am leaving it up though in hopes someone will come along and tell me the exact issue if it is true. Then I can start to understand what caused it and what impact it may have, if any.
I want to know what breaks it in my mod though, if it even does. No one is able to tell me that, so if someone just says "breaks previs," where is the data to support that? What exactly has broken it?
@Luucy3 Just as an example regarding your comment that you don't use it... So you don't use it because someone says it breaks previs, except you do not even know what broke it, so how do you know it is broken? Or, did you download it and you are able to tell me exactly how my mod broke it?
From what I understand if you did not delete assets or move them, it wont break it. Lets pretend I moved 1 asset inadvertently though (or more), so it "breaks" it. What is the long term repercussion of that, if any. As I have said, I have had no FPS issues or crashing with the mod for years and it would appear 100k+ other people also play with it just fine.
So in reality, lets say it truly does break it. It would seem lots of people still enjoyed it regardless and had no issues. Or this entire page would be filled with endless complaints of FPS issues/crashes/blew up their computer, wouldn't it? This has been up for consoles as well for years, I never heard anything on that end either about it.
I love the little chickens and rabbits running aroung in stttlements :)
VATS has them marked red but I learned to iggnore that.
PS: Does this do anything in Camp Kendall? I just got huge issues with hundred of tree clusters spawning in same post on top of a new building . I have lots of mods added recently though so it may not be yours, so just asking. :)
I cannot remember all the locations I added stuff to at this point, but there is nothing in larger city areas like Camp Kendall, so I would say that is not my mod.
I hope I am posting this question in the right spot as I am still a bit of a noob with mods. It is not really a huge issue for me and there is a 99% chance it is my fault lol.
This mod Less aggressive vanilla Squirrels of the commonwealth docile
My companions are taking off and running miles away after squirrels. Dogmeat and Codsworth HATE squirrels (haven't gotten other champions as of yet)
Hi, please see my response directly below your post here about using xedit to remove any animals you want. If you don't know how to use xedit, please check out google or some youtube tuts.
hey liquid, do you mind elaborating a bit on what exactly needs to be removed or tweaked for that to work? namely the small game like rabbits and roosters.
Not sure, but by just looking at the pics, there may be clipping, since so much foliage was added. It prob wont cause any major issues, but there most likely would be light to major clipping etc.
Don't know anything about it, but read under compatibility on main page. If that mod doesn't also place tons of objects around the wilderness, then it shouldn't.
Precombines are only broken by deleting or moving world objects. As long as you didn't do that, no precombine is broken.
However, if you added a bunch of stuff in a cell, like a bunch a bunch. Liek overhauled the place or added walls around a settlement or so on, you've added so much that you should make new precombines. But generally sprinkling some corpses, a few trees, some random critters, etc... That's 100% okay without doing anything else.
Moving vanilla stuff also has the potential to conflict with other mods. I went through this entire file looking for such problems. The author moved ONE tree at one location and it's not part of any precombined mesh. It otherwise just adds a small handful of things to various wilderness locations. Perfectly safe for your game and performance.
I love mods like these. Based on the text, images and comments I want to download this. I just wanted to know if anyone uses this mod with Hunker Down Mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/49865?tab=description)?
@mod author, HD comes with a map of altered locations, do you think there might be a conflict?

That aside, where exactly does it break it?

Well, I'm far from experienced enough to explain this complex topic, but please take a look at this popular mod and you'll see why breaking precombines/previs is a real problem in the game:
Previsibines Repair Pack Stable Branch - PRP at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
It's a bummer honestly, because otherwise I'd love to use your great mod :/

ADDED: Friendly squirrel patch
They still hate squirrels.
Thanks for your time.
is this LOD supported or set as Full for LOD?does this mod have LOD models or does it need LOD generation done? However, if you added a bunch of stuff in a cell, like a bunch a bunch. Not bad
